For myself The Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 1-3 (2008-2019) is the finest collection of films representing a comic book universe. Imo, they lost their mojo starting with Phase 4. 🤔

On this fine Christmas Day, enjoying Captain America, The First Avenger. 😄

Without getting to political, I think the way was lost when those who are over the Marvel Universe, started to meddle in things they shouldn't. They are not comic book fans so they inject their non-comic book nonsense into the comic books.

I don't think people are tired of comic book movies, they are tired of crap comic book movies and they are tired of the "forced" items being pushed into comic book movies.

I agree that the stories must be sound, and coherent. Such high hopes for the Captain Marvel Sequel, the Dr Strange sequel, the 3rd Guardian’s, the 3rd Ant Man, and the 4th Thor Movie, all dashed on the rocks imo. Plus I hated the Spiderman reboot. Some of this was creative choices, and just plain weak storybtelling as if they ran out of ideas. And churning out Marvel TV Shows was both a bust and overkill, because as a rule it cheapens the stories, imo.

The 3rd Guardian's and Spiderman I didn't bump against. I thought they were ok. But my god man, they have 80+ years of content they can pull from. 80+ years!!!!!! They don't need to re-invent the wheel, they really don't. I still think the first run of movies leading up Tony's death was the best run of movies they have put out. Sure some where a little weaker than others, but man... what a ride.

Right now, it feels like they are lost. Completely lost.

Did their writers quit or are they now using AI? 🤔

I have a completely different take on it... I don't think it is either.

I saw the same thing happen with another fan line I like, "True Blood". They had the stories, they had the characters, but they put someone in charge of it that wanted to do "their own thing" with the content. So, this is what we ended up.

I think the same thing can be said about what has happened with Star Wars, whether it is the last three movies or a few of the spinoff series. There are hundreds of stories folks can pull from and pay homage to... and yet, we end up with writers and directors who want to put "their own spin" on it or make it highly political in which you alienate your fan base.

It would be very interesting to be a fly on the wall in some of these writers room.
