I know there have been threads on this in the past, but I don't remember the marware protection pack. Has anyone used this. It includes protectors for the palmrest area on apple notebooks. I saw it in the store, and wasn't sure of the quality.

I know an op in the other linked thread indicated that this marware product was 'foamy' and interfered with the lid closing. This isn't my experience at all - the marware product is so thin it doesn't interfere at all. Perhaps there are some real clearance differences in different machines?
The protection pack is around US$20.00 I think (from memory) - so there isn't a big risk in trying it out I guess - but it sure does make that wrist plate area more comfortable and clean. Not to mention great protection for scratches.
Contact Marware asking about the thickness dimensions - that would settle it I guess. It's a fraction of a millimetre. It would be way less than the radtech screen savers in thickness and ppl seem to love using those.
i have this product and there aren't any clearance issues as far as what i can see. it closes fine without any interference. the thing i like about this is the wrist pad, preventing those permanent black marks on the laptop.
imho though, i think this product is a little overpriced. $20 (pls shipping) for a piece of cloth and vinyl cut-out?! decent product nonetheless.

sorry, I can NOT recommend this, I bought it, and after 3 weeks use, 3 blue spots appeared on my MB's palm resting area, and can not be cleaned out, I don't know why this was happening, and I can live with it coz it was tiny, until apple replaced my top-case when they repaired my RSS problem.

Yeah, I use a ScreenSavrz in my MacBook and it stays closed just as good with it as without it. While I don't have the Marware protection pack, I've seen it, and it's not foamy at all, it's like a vinyl car decal or palm screen protector...very very thin.
This isn't a Marware issue though - the phantom blue ink-type spots you speak of - have been reported by others as part of the discolouration - some ppl's surfaces turn yellowy browny - others get blue ink spots that spread. It's an Apple issue not the protector pack that is causing this.
I don't think so, they weren't there b4 I put the marware stuff on, and the position of the spots are not the area my hand frequently touched.

to be honest, i have the marware protection pack for my MBP.
i totally dig this as a nice add on. I like it, and believe you will also. don't know the problem the other guy was talking about, but i am a satisfied customer. and i am a pretty tough critic.

If you do a search, you will find others who have this blue mark in various places - I don't know why it happens - and only to some units. All I can do is inform you that I've read other ops having this same issue.
well, not really interested, either way, I have my top case replaced already, if its not marware's fault, thats fine with me. I was just telling the fact that blue spots show up after using marware, maybe its old top-case's strange problem, thats ok with me.
I'm happy to hear that you have a new top case - but if you are not interested in how your staining occurred - I'm a bit puzzled that you are warning ppl about not purchasing another product b/c you think that is the cause of it.

MB has big chance of getting that problem, so I took picture every week to compare the color, and fortunately, I didn't really have any of discoloration problem, still, I wasn't feeling safe, so I purchased marware stuff. and Im pretty sure before i put it on, there weren't any problem, then that blue spots show up after 2 weeks. first I saw one big spot, I thought "oh, maybe it was there before, I just didn't noticed", then one more week, another 4 small one show up around that area. Then I posted here, and nobody reply my post.
So, Let me be clear, Im not sure the cause, I can only say that it looks like the combination of marware and old defected top-case, marware alone will probably not cause that blue spots, while Im not sure if old top-case alone can produce that problem, since as you can see in my old post, that area is not the place you will put your finger on all the time.
anyway, Im standing by my experience, if Im 0.001%, then apparently OP can just ignore my case, since Im pretty sure my experience wasn't common anyway.

So, Marware protection pack is thin enough not to hinder closing the screen while the protection pack is still on? I think MB has a little more clearance than MBP between the keyboard and screen when closed. It's similar to what PB and iBook used to be.
Do you have the protection pack "plus?" The plus version comes with the sleeve and screen protector micro-fiber cloth. I already order the Radtech screensaverz for my MBP.
I wander if Radtech Screensavers, Marware protection pack, and iSkin can be used at the same time when MPB is closed.
Edit: I am using Palm screen protectors on my MBP's wrist rest areas for now. It has been worked well for my PBs and ibook so far. But, it would be nice to get the protection product specifically made for MBP/MB.

I had an opportunity to ask Marware about this MBP protection package. They were able to confirm their protection pack does not obstract MBP's lid closing mechanism and does not cause extra pressure on the screen when closed with the protection pack on MBP. So, I went ahead with this order.

Additionally, does anybody else notice that the screen protector is slightly too small. It would seem to be a better design if the stitched edges fit nicely into the grooves on the perimeter of the keyboard. Mine barely covers the keys and I get marks on the screen from stitched edges. So far, no scratches though

I attached a few photos as examples.

That looks very bad since it doesn't stick at the edge of your MB.
Hmm... I'd prefer to the silver color for my MBP if i will to order one for myself.

As far as the keyboard cover, I have already got Screensaverz from Radtech.
I just got my Marware Protection Pack Plus from Marware for my MBP 15". It is a very thin cover on the wrist rest ares. so, it does not get in the way when closing MBP. After careful application (it is difficult to make it perfectly lining up on the edge; but, I managed it close enough), it sticks flush onto MBP. I have not yet tried out the sleeve which came as a "Plus" package. For the screen protector, I think I will use Radtech screensaverz instead.

I'm considering to get both of iSkin and Marware to protect my MBP.
I have the Marware on the wrist section, Radtech's screensaver for on the go and an iSkin - all works very very well. I do find the Marware keyboard protector useless though - it feels way too rough - so I use it in my bag for external cleanups only if required.
Hello Khunsanook: I've noticed you have a black marware product on a white macbook? I was going to get black too - thinking it would look cool (which it does btw) but changed to white when I noticed that Marware had a warning about black Marware is to go with Blackbook and white to go with white MB - I'm guessing the black was marking the white MB? don't know.... check out their site for the info - maybe I read it wrong.
