Glad I got BoxOffice when I did, it is by far the best movie app out there.
In my area, it only picks up 1/2 to 2/3 of the theaters. Not sure why, but Movies is better at getting all of them. Otherwise, I'd agree that BoxOffice is better.

That's so lame. That's what makes the program useful! Show white, crank the brightness up all the way! The is the ONLY way of having a flashlight program!!:

Yeah, all the rest just show a blank white page - while it's better than nothing, there's a HUGE difference between the glow you get from Light and the glow from its competitors.

To the OP: Thanks for starting this.

You're welcome!

:D

NetShare seems to be down again. It was up when I first saw this thread...but when I tried to open it so I could buy it...it said it was no longer available.

Here's another pulled app: "the WISDOM Japanese-English English-Japanese Dictionary" ... It has been pulled from both the US and Japanese stores.

Not to hijack the thread but have you ever found anything to replace this one in terms of an offline Japanese/English dictionary for the iPhone/Touch? Now that the Wisdom Dictionary has been pulled I'm either searching the wrong keywords or there are NO offline dictionaries available for download.

I haven't found anything as cool as WISDOM. But I still have the .ipa (thank God for Time Machine!) if you want to have a go at it ;)

In the meantime, what about this one: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=286264159&mt=8

I would really love to have a go at it. I wonder if it is as screwy with the Touch as it is with the iPhone. I'll PM you, thanks.

Yeah, I saw that one but according to the lone review it is an online dictionary. With the 3G iPhone this isn't as much of a consideration I guess but I need one for my touch and oftentimes I will need to use it in places without wifi.

Edited the list to include I Am Rich, one of the more interesting iPhone apps to date...

Well, I'm glad they pulled that crap out of the store but how it ever got through Apple's screening process to make it to the App Store to BEGIN with is something I'd really like to know.

Well....Twinkle was pulled because of security issues! Recently, there was a security breach in Twitter and Twinkle was like... a threat for iPhone! Its all solved now though!

Slasher got pulled too, due to "objectionable content." Isn't that what the ratings are for? Too bad, looked hilarious.

It is hilarious. Every time you shake the iphone it plays the psycho music. I was sure it would get pulled because of the copyright violation, just like PhoneSaber. I guess it pays to visit the apps store frequently and download quickly.

3-Tuple (card game, you match sets of three by card attributes) got pulled a couple days ago, I have no idea why. Spiffy little game.

Diggerific

It looks like Diggerific has been pulled. When I tried to download it earlier today I got the "being modified" message, and now it doesn't appear to be listed at all.

Found it -- the name of the app seems to have been changed to "Shovel."

FYI for those who got netshare, I had not backed up since I got it, and I did not have a backup of the ipa, but when I synced today a backup of netshare.ipa showed up.

BoxOffice is back!

BoxOffice (a.k.a. Now Playing) is back. As reported elsewhere in these forums, due to a NDA the developer cannot discuss the reasons why it was pulled.

Vexed seems to have disappeared after a very brief appearance.

Edit: Never mind - the developer pulled it to get straight some matters about the GPL license and Apple's distribution method. It will be back.
