any updates on this one? i'm stuck with 10.9.1 on my macpro when running my netstor NA255A with 3 x 780 GTX cards from EVGA and one GT430 as 'terminator' card - (see conclusion remarks). under 10.9.1 with CUDA 6.5.36 and nvidia web driver 331.01.01b07 i can see the internal GTX 780 GTX (macvidcards patched) + all cards in the netstor box.
with OSX mavericks 10.9.5 with latest web driver + CUDA only the internal card + the first 2 GTX cards in the netstor box are recognized. the cards in the remaining slots will never be shown as nvidia cards, but as a generic display PCI devices. no keyext are loaded for them. if with 3 cards, when the card in the last slot is removed, just one 780 card will be displayed.
concluding, there are 2 issues with the expansion box after OSX 10.9.1:
1. only up to a max of 3 CUDA GPU's including the internal will be usable.
2. the card in last slot in the expansion box will be ignored by CUDA but enables the previous cards, up to the limit described in point 1. a max of 2 additional cards seem to be possible that way. i could not verify if this limit is totally removed when using titan blacks, as the cubix support claims - they are way to expensive and difficult to get on the second hand market.
did anyone try if the new 980 series has the same kind of limitations?
specs: mac pro 5.1 mid 2010, 48 G RAM, netstor PCI link card in PCI slot 1, macvidcards patched GTX 780 in slot 2, sonnet SSD tempo RAID card in slot 3.
cheers
