Anyone else having problems playing this game with an xbox 360 controller (I'm using a 2012 macbook)? My mapping is all messed up (prompts tell me RT to fire but it is actually LT, which messes up staying in cover) Only the Y button seems to do what it should.

Some of the PC sites say that you can fully remap the controller but I can't see any option to do that or choose any other layouts.

3rd complaint I've heard of this from mac gamers, so it must be all around. Rockstar has a Mac section http://support.rockstargames.com/forums/21910508-Max-Payne-3-Mac-Technical-Support so just submit a ticket and see what happens.

Would need more info than that on your specs to give an opinion.

The 15 inch rMBPs do all have same gfx, except some have a bit more VRAM.
The CPu differences are negligible.

Only the classic MacBook Pro offers different vRAM options. All Retina 15-inch models have the same 1 GB GPU.
