Air prices are indeed dropping.......

.......since I just won an Ait and I paid less than $1300 for it and it is brand new. Yes it is a HDD model but much better than Rev A and now I can leave the White Macbook to wifey.

Yes sir, easy $650.

Congrats. But I don't understand this type of action. Why look for a MBA then find a good deal and sell it? I guess I don't see a reason to buy and sell things. I mean, unless this is your permanent job and you claim it on your taxes. Of course, after taxes it will be like $400 not $650. Like being a car dealer, I guess. Is this what you do with everything?

I do it on the side, just for the fun and adventure of it. What's wrong with finding a good deal, helping someone out (original seller needed rent money), and making a little bit of money? I don't see any harm in that.

I will say: I was about to sell my MBP 2.93 and keep the Air, just a sweet little machine. I'm on the prowl for another in the same price range and may keep it.

Well got another deal on Craigslist, another $1600 and it's already listed on eBay....one of these times I'm going to have to keep the MBA more than a few days.

This one I got lucky on as well....guy didn't know it had 3 years worth of AppleCare, so I got a steal this time.

Why are these $2,500 computers going for so cheap? Are people stealing them? Is there some secret super cheap channel people are buying these from? I have never seen a Mac drop in value like this, well the Rev A is a different story.
Maybe people are just predicting the Rev C to be that much cheaper and want to dump their MBA quick. Just seems weird.

Maybe I'll save for the RevC with the cash I make off of these....

Since you're bragging about it here, you surely better report all of those profits on your income taxes. That will just about wipe out half your profits.

I think some may be stolen, and some may be people charging them on credit card as need the cash so sell cheap. I have read that as much as 50% of all technology products sold on Craig's List are stolen. Crazy numbers. I always feel like everything is stolen, so I prefer to buy from Apple. When my Macs including my MBA were stolen, I was calling every one listed on Craig's List hopeful to find mine. I wanted my files more than anything, LOL.

I don't think the risk/reward vs taxes due on these sorts of things are worth it unless you already own a business that buys and sells computers. I would rather spend my time doing my profession rather than trying to hustle potentially stolen Macs for money.

would you "buy it back"

I responded to some Craig's List ads for rev B MBAs with 1.86 and SSD today. One was selling it, plus SuperDrive, plus software, plus case for $2000. I offered $1850 and it was sold later in the day for $2000. I should have just paid the $2000.

Mine was stolen, and I actually am hopeful to find my stolen MBA on sale, to buy it back with my files since my backup drive was stolen also. HA HA!

I still have my SuperDrive though, so I didn't think it was mine.

Sure, $1600 is a good price. That's a joke right? For a rev B MBA with 1.86 GHz CPU and SSD, anything less than $2000 is decent. I see them for $2k to $2100 new in box, so less than that with extras is a good deal.

Would you buy the stolen one back or just take it and run lol personally id take it and run :)

Wow, I'm glad I paid over 215,000 yen (nearly $2400 USD) for my 1.6 HDD at Apple Japan back in late January...

Out the door with AppleCare and a Superdrive it was nearly $2900 USD
