very nice turn around! congrats!
I bought a 2.4 Macbook Pro NIB for almost exactly that on NYC Craigslist a few weeks ago. I tried, but I wasnt able to get anyone to go lower. Used was a hundred or two less, as you say.
So you copped a 1.86/128 for $1600 and flipped it for $2250, sweet.
Yes sir, easy $650.
Congrats. But I don't understand this type of action. Why look for a MBA then find a good deal and sell it? I guess I don't see a reason to buy and sell things. I mean, unless this is your permanent job and you claim it on your taxes. Of course, after taxes it will be like $400 not $650. Like being a car dealer, I guess. Is this what you do with everything?
I bought mine sealed 2.4 Unibody MBP for USD $1260

Bro bought his sealed 2.0 MB Unibody last week for a USD $830.
So anything can happen.
Maybe I'll save for the RevC with the cash I make off of these....
Why are these $2,500 computers going for so cheap? Are people stealing them? Is there some secret super cheap channel people are buying these from? I have never seen a Mac drop in value like this, well the Rev A is a different story.
Maybe people are just predicting the Rev C to be that much cheaper and want to dump their MBA quick. Just seems weird.
I responded to some Craig's List ads for rev B MBAs with 1.86 and SSD today. One was selling it, plus SuperDrive, plus software, plus case for $2000. I offered $1850 and it was sold later in the day for $2000. I should have just paid the $2000.
Mine was stolen, and I actually am hopeful to find my stolen MBA on sale, to buy it back with my files since my backup drive was stolen also. HA HA!
I still have my SuperDrive though, so I didn't think it was mine.
Sure, $1600 is a good price. That's a joke right? For a rev B MBA with 1.86 GHz CPU and SSD, anything less than $2000 is decent. I see them for $2k to $2100 new in box, so less than that with extras is a good deal.
