Basically what kills the MBA purchase for some folks including me is the Very Low and limited disk space, and the 2GB max on the ram. If this had a bigger drive or more ram and it was upgradable like my UniMB 2.4 then I would have purchased the MBA, but for what you get to me, it was too expensive, but now they dropped the price so I bet a bunch more ppl will buy one.

It's a Mac in one way shape or form, so it is a Good Thing Overall...:D

There just isn't a larger hd or ssd at this form factor that is technologically feasible YET, what can we do? What can apple do?

Haha. True.. but for the people that accept this, the RAM / screen still makes this hard to buy (at least in my case). As much as I would love an Air, I'm closer to buying a 13 MBP every day now.

fair enough...what's with the screen though, you mean the lines? Cause even with lines it's far superior to the atrocious glassy mbp.

Yeah.. did mean the lines. I might have been able to buy one without being bothered too much, but after reading about it so much, I can't hep but notice and be bothered by them whenever I use a MBA. Basically, I blame this forum for that.

that's true, I was considering this as well before buying, you gotta take the good with the bad I guess, the bad here being that it sensitized us to an issue that we might otherwise not have noticed at all...

Op, If you don't like the updates to the air, then travel to the future for rev. C of the air, because at the moment the air is As Cutting Edge As Can be. What do you want apple to do, the ssds are not there, the cpus are not there, and the battery tec (which btw, they are the only ones who have it anyways....) is not there either. Time travel is not an option.

Pretty sure the RAM is there... Larger SSD would be nice but I could live with the 128 by throwing things out and taking a small HD with me. But 2 GB is 2GB is 2GB in the MBA... And I agree with some posters. It might be good now but come new iWork etc its done. And I am not buying something which is already at the tail of technology specs today. My old PB has 2 GB - since 5 years... My MBP since 3:mad:

Honestly I think the specs are fine for what it is. Can you think of another 3lb laptop that can handle the type of graphics performance the mba can?

For mba to be a useful laptop for me I need either built in 3g or another usb port. When that happens im all over it.

I spend 15 nights a month in a hotel. I use my computer for web browsing and email. Sounds like the MBA is perfect for me. No more lugging my 15" MBP around.

This guy is who should buy the MBA!! This is who apple built the damn thing for. People that buy the MBA as their only computer, or only laptop for that matter, will always be let down. It is designed for form over function!!
