Strange. I am having no problems at all with a LG 27UK850-W either connected directly via USB-C or either connected via a OWC Thunderbolt 4 hub as well as a OWC Thunderbold 4 Dock.
In all three cases it works (even have some devices plugged in the USB-A on the back of the LG) using the original USB-C cable provided by LG.
It seem according to macrumors article that it’s only effecting some hubs/docks/displays don’t know why.
As it work fine with all other to the MbP including the usb-c to DisplayPort adapter the issue are not hardware related.
I also did try thunderbolt ssd and usb-c camera both work so.

I’m trying to reinstall the macOS 12.1 now to see if the issue are still there.

12.1 or 12.0.1? 12.1 is only available as a beta right now.

Both.
I did find out that I can also power on and off the display then I do get picture back.

So usb-c cable to mbp is having some kind of issues

OK because I am on 12.1b1 and it is working with my LG and Dock.

I don't have an M1, or otherwise Apple Silicon Mac, or anything USB-C, or TB. I was really just joining this thread to find out if the majority of the USB related issues are mainly on Apple Silicon Macs? I have a late 2015, 27" iMac, which I upgrade to Monterey on day one, and have had zero issues with connectivity. I have a powered Anker hub which has 10 ports. 7 USB 3.0 type A for data, and 3 USB type A dedicated charging ports.

Most of the reports I've seen are geared toward newer hardware, but have seen mention of some older, but not as much, unless things have changed. Reading this thread was my most recent updated information to the situation.

That’s my conclusion also that it’s some kind of driver for the m1.
In the begging with Big Sur it did not work at all if I remember correctly

There must be something going on with USB-C because my SSD enclosure works perfectly fine with my M1 MBP13 but will not work at all with the MBP14.

Well, Big Sur had the bricking bug as well. the older Macbooks and maybe some of the M1s as well. I've been checking from time to time, and I don't see any bricking problems with Monterey outside some early issues in the beta.

Report it to apple it’s the only way we can get this issue fixed.
I have reported it.

Turns out updating to 12.0.1 solved the issue.
Of course this was very not obvious to me because when I turned on the new laptop I attempted to move stuff from a Time Machine backup and it just didn't work. Glad I don't have to think about this anymore :)

If I did use the Belkin Thunderbolt Dock and connected the display to that dock with the USB-C I did also get strange issues like when I did reboot I was forced to open and close the lid to get picture again if I did not do that I did only have dark picture with the mouse showing only.

Display:
LG UltraFine 32” 4K 32UN880

Display -> USB-C -> MBP 14”
If I connect the TB3 cable when the MBP 14 has the lid open it works until reboot then after that it stops working. The same is if I disconnect the USB-C cable again then it also stop working.
I just started using my new MBP 14" with my 32UN880-B using usb-c to usb-c and I'm having this reboot issue without any dock in between the two. So everything works as long as I just don't reboot it or power off, using sleep seems to work so that it wakes up. But when ever I select restart from MacOS display lose signal and if I power off the display and then back on, I get MacOS loading bar during boot and it goes further but no login screen, just black image with mouse cursor moving. It does not even work then if I open MBP lid, the only way out from this state is to hold MBP power button down until it power off which is not good. I haven't dared to try it many times, so I was hoping if someone might have found any solution to this?

My system:
MBP 14" USB-C to LG 32" 32UN880-B USB-C (Logitech Unifying received in monitor USB-hub for my keyboard/mouse)
67W Apple MagSafe charger (I use it to bypass monitor 60W USB-C PD power feed.
(I tried once without MagSafe charger to make sure issues was not from using two chargers but it did not make any difference.)

BTW. I was using this same monitor and USB-C to USB-C cable with my Mini M1 and it worked fine. There was occasionally reboot bug in some OS versions that seemed to come and go depending on update but it never hanged up the system so that I had to force power down, it was always resolved by just powering display off to on.
