right now i've got a 15 in. that i take to class every day. my mom has the 17 in. and it won't fit on my desk comfortably while also allowing me to have a book/notebook next to it/in front of it.

i'd say go 17 if portability isn't a big issue for you (i would def do that if i wasn't taking it to class). but if you're going to have a book near by and want to type notes or something while reading think it over carefully b/c those two inches makes a difference. good luck!

My vote for the 17incher too. The display is just gorgeous. Great to watch movies on once in a while and good enough to carry it around whenever you want. Not as portable as the 15" but I think I can live with that when im getting a bigger- much more vivid display, an extra USB port and something that doesn't get as hot as the 15" in bargain.

i have a 17", and my two best friends have a 15" MBP (same specs only matte) and 13" Macbook repsectively. Obviously, i'm partial to my 17", got a discount for a timbuk2 XL commuter bag, fits the 17" perfectly!!!!

great bag, the 17" honestly is just as portable as my friends 15", really no difference at all... for me it's not about extra screen size, it's about extra screen resolution... i like the extra res for Final Cut, it really is nice.

all 3 computers are solid choices though.
