I have a glossy screen and I simply love it. I went to my local apple store and compared both and simply liked the glossy better. I use it on airplanes, at home, on the back-porch never had a problem with glare.

Myths:
"Glossy shows truer color."
"Matte shows truer color."
"Glossy has an unbearable viewing angle and reflection."
"Matte is nearly invisible in sunlight."

Facts:
Both type of screen show the same excactness of colors. The glossy layer does not interfere with the colors tone.

As long as you have the brightness at a fair setting, you will not suffer from glare. The only place where I would wish for a matte, is in my car in the afternoon in the summer with bright sunlight, but it I rarely watch a DVD in the car at summertime.

The only true differences are viewing angles and bare looks.

While as the glossy cover will decrese the viewing angle slightly, it is nothing noticeable. I have had 12 persons watch a movie on my MacBook. Works great.

As humans are attracted as many monkeys to shiny things, more people will be impressed by the glossy. It looks brighter and nicer. I would take a glossy since humans by nature plainly think it looks nicer.

Those are facts you'll all find out are true by research and comparison.

Dear jesus god, you did not just say that!

Tell that to someone who has to match colors on bricks on his screen to bricks in real life. Seriously, even suggesting there is no color difference is...well...

Given the nature of the glossy screen all colors will not be even on the entire screen because of the limited viewing angle.

Fact: when comparing MB and MBP (matte) screens at full brightness outside on a sunny day, the matte screen is significantly harder to read.

I haven't had a chance to sit with a MB outside full brightness on a sunny day. But for a matte screen, sunny days are not happy days. In fact, brightness seems to not do much for visability on a matte screen on a sunny day, and the screen is just plain ahrd to read no matter what.
