For those with Verizon Wireless and can't add stuff like ringtones and such, check out Bitpim. You can change your wallpaper, get your photos, and create and upload your own ringtones. I have it for my LG VX8300 and it works great.

So I paired my Verizon Razr up with my Powerbook via Bluetooth and iSync won't allow me to sync my iCal, just contacts....is there an app that will allow me to sync my calenders as well?

Perhaps the decision was more related to Bluetooth's limited bandwidth, compared to the capacity of the iPhone? Not sure what to tell you mate... it definitely seems to have been a deliberate decision on their part however.

Wow Verizon i crappy. I can't believe they'd lock it down like that...

Charging

Trepex,

If you can try this an verify that it works, it would be waayyy cool. I'm more concerned with if the non-Verizon RAZR charges without having the drivers present on a Mac system. Last I checked, I couldn't charge without having drivers on the machine.

I'll try again, but my wife now has ownership of the RAZR (I've migrated to a Nokia e63), but if it works, I may contemplate taking it back. :)

I charged my RAZR from my MacBook and my PowerBook before. I have the AT&T version and I synched if via bluetooth. My son charges his RAZR with his MacBook so he has one less charger at school. I really liked my RAZR, but it could not compete with the iPhone, so I retired it to spare phone status.

Yea, most bluetooth Motorola phones sync wonderfully with Macs......UNLESS you have Verizon. Then just forget it, the Verizon interface locks out and/or breaks the syncing capabilities of the phones.

I have a razr and it syncs super-duper well with my Macs. Very easy to setup, too.

I have a RAZR V3C (Telus, Canada) and while I can transfer some files over Bluetooth with my Macbook Pro, it didn't want to use mp3 i've uploaded as ringtones. However, I avoided this by naming my mp3 file on my computer the same as the name of one of the ringtones already in the phone by default (There is a ringtone named "RAZR V3C") so i've uploaded a song named "RAZR V3C.mp3" and it worked, it actually replaced the original file by the new one while continuing to allow it to be used as a ringtone!

Right...try telling that to my Razr V3m that doesn't allow bluetooth transfers with my MBP.

Do you even have a Verizon Razr or did you just feel like Windows bashing? haha :p

Motorola's are crap to be blunt :p

I owned a SLVR and had nothing but problems - Bluetooth sync worked but the overall phone was awful.

I don't have an iPhone yet, so I can't comment on it yet, but my Motorola phones have always been great and I have had nothing but problems with any other brand of phone...including Samung, Nokia, Sony Erickson, and LG...

Maybe I have just been lucky...:)
