Cybergypsy, what Apple store in Orlando do/did you deal with? You mentioned in another post they were really good (from a tech side).

Thanks,
Tom

the one in the florida mall is really good
thats the one i go to

and the one my friend got the manager to give him a free Mybook pro 500gb

polls arent easy to post, you can never apease everyone, but you prolly didnt need to have options for the 2.2 and 2.4, i dont think that much matters...anyway! I have just the slightes bit of a yellow tint on the bottom of my samsung, but i didnt vote becuase its not really a big deal, but its not PERFECT either...so i didnt feel like picking a choice that wasent really true.

even a bit counts, this is to see if its getting better......

well, then this isnt the way to find that out, everyone who has had a bad one is going to pick yes, you should have done it based on dates if you want to see if its getting better...we havent had many threads lately complaining about it so i think its getting better...ill have to look at my friends new machine and see how that is, he's got an older one though it didnt come with ilife 08 the apple store gave him a free copy though..

come to think of it that adds to the which central florida store is better question, when he bought his new mbp last week it didnt have ilife 08 so they gave him a FREE copy not a 9 dollar upgrade:D

Thats because they thought they were suppose to do that, however now you get nothing :(

well, like i said in my first post, its nearly impossible to post a perfect poll that has multiple choices...you did good though

im still not voting because i dont fell mines falls in any particular choice

If the bottom 1/3 of your screen has a yellow hue...

Does warranty cover it?

I've had my Macbook Pro SR for about a month now (I've been on vacation).

What are the steps I have to take to exchange it for one w/o this yellow screen problem?

Don't see the need for all the options - a 2.2MBP and a 2.4MBP will have the same types of screen.

It is the manfacture of the screen, not the model of the computer. Both the 2.2 and 2.4 ones have either an LG or Samsung (9C97 or 9C68 respectfully).

Simplicity is the key - especially when it comes to voting options :p

I voted for LG/Samsung - No Yellowing, although my first SR MBP did have yellowing and it was a Samsung screen, where my replacement is an LG and has no yellowing at all.

Call Apple and they will help you...

Well many on this forum have had theirs replaced so I would think that you could certainly get applecare to fix it. At least I would hope so.

As for mine, LG, week 27, no yellowing. Extreme lower right hand bottom corner is a little darker, but I put my dock there so I don't even notice it. Besides I must say that photos, etc. look awesome so I certainly am not going to complain.

how can you tell what brand your display is?? i'm about to upgrade to the LED screens since mine feels like its starting to die out.

LED's are supposed to resist fading right? i.e. you don't need to put the brightness to max just to get a decent light? cuz mine is 2 squares below max and its still a little dim... :rolleyes:

they are very bright, and they stay that bright until the second they die

How To Find Your Display Model

distype.png

System Preferences --> Display --> Color --> Open Profile, then scroll down like in the picture.

9C67 = LG
9C68 = Samsung
.

less grain??? i got a samsung display and i have absolutely no idea what grain you could be talking about

Was a pain in the 1st and 2nd gen MBP's - there was a grain effect (supposedly anti-glare or something) over the screen, the ACD's have it too, as did the previous gen iMac's.

I've owned both a Samsung and LG, and didn't notice less grain on the LG compared to the Samsung.

But going from my 2nd gen MBP to the Samsung and LG the screen was so smooth and appeared to have no grain at all.
