Congrats on your adventure! Not trying to be too personal, but were you fairly compensated, beyond the experience? Hope so, but regardless, glad you enjoyed it!

Great insight into how a commercial is all fleshed out. How long did the driving/climbing aka action shots take? A week, a day, a few hours? Did they also mount a DSLR camera on your Subaru for that 'into the cabin' shot?
Thanks

DSLR?..........think........more expensive......"cinematic" if you will.

They shot the commercial on film with a $250,000 camera.

The whole commercial took 3 full days of shooting.

what kind of subaru do you have? what year and model?

Great video btw!

Thanks. I had a 2004 Forester XT Auto before. That was involved in a horrific crash back in December when we were rear ended on the highway, and sent flipping over to the other side. Glad to be alive after that. I went out once I got the insurance payout for the car and bought an identical replacement.

This is my car now. 2005 Forester XT Turbo 5-Speed:

This was my old car back in December. A 2004 Forester XT Automatic. Car saved my life, as well as both of my friends who were in it. I badly want to do another commercial for Subaru showcasing their safety.

That looks really horrific. Glad to know that you're alright (as with your friends).

Saw some of your youtube videos, really interesting to see what Suburus are capable of.

Congrats! You look the part... and I mean that in a good way. Very cool for you to be a part of it.

...although, everyone I know who's had Subies has had trouble with the drivetrains. Trannies and powerplant type stuff. On one car it got so bad that Subaru (the company, not the dealer) just gave them a new car. Great customer service in that experience, but still... :/

Congratulations on the job, you did good. I wouldn't know that you've never been in front of the camera before.

Really nice commercial!!! Your voice are just perfect! Amazing landscape!

Your old car looks quite beaten up! Did the fire department cut the roof to get you guys out immobilized, or did it break when rolling?

You guys were lucky ;)

I usually tend to not like a lot of vehicle commercials but these Subaru ads are different because they show real life experiences. Congrats Josh, you are a lucky man! This was a beautifully shot commercial ;)

Being free, being unconstrained —oh my god, double rainbow, double rainbow all the way — and you see these in pictures and you actually have to see them for yourself.

Great job man. It may just be me but the commercial had a very Apple feel to it. Maybe the narration with a point to it. A little life story ya know. You should narrate Apple commercials? You have the voice for it!

I enjoyed this commercial! I think it's cool how Subaru reaches out to actual customers to be in the commercials! Now if only Subaru would do a hooning commercial I'd fill that role with my Sti. ;)

"Hi, I'm Josh Flure, and I'm a Mac."

How the commercial should have ended. But seriously, awesome job for your first commercial. Beautifully shot.

Wow, it turned out great and you did a wonderful job. :)
I have a few questions: where was it shot, do you actually rock climb and is that also your voice?

The rock climber had a helemt on from the back and when they showed a front veiw he wasn't wearing a helmet.
