Mel Gibson at it again

So, anyone going to see Apocalypto on the 8th, or soon after? Will this be another surprise blockbuster by Gibson, or just a bust? I haven't paid much attention to any particular hype, negative or positive, but plan to see it.

I am, I can't wait to see it.

Mel Gibson can take his movies and shove them far up his anti-semitic ass.

It was hilarious when I went to see Borat though...when they showed the preview for his next piece of trash, the second the words "A Mel Gibson Film" showed up on the screen, the entire theater (sold out crowd) started booing, loudly.

I'm actually looking forward to this film quite a bit. I know virtually nothing about Mayans, but I'm sure this film will probably pique my interest, maybe even enough to take a history class about them next semester. I personally don't think Gibson is anti-Semitic, and I've [almost] always enjoyed his movies, so I don't really have a reason not to go.

For those who won't mind spitting out the commercials, here's a linky for some newer trailer/teasers released as of Nov. 30.

There are a couple of people on MR who have studied the Maya culture, even written a thesis on it if I recall. I wonder what the little girl is saying at the beginning of one of the trailers?
