Looks like iPhone may need some major storage/battery life updates for this kind of stuff! :p

I've got both games. I've played one chapter in Hero of Sparta.

I think it's a great game. I think I like it more than Brother in Arms so far.

The virtual joystick is great. You can move around although not exactly everywhere. You're still limited in having to follow a path. Reminds me a bit of Kroll but 100 times better.

Im wondering how long these games last Brothers in arms and Sparta 9.99 while cheap for a game of console quality im more about 5.99 for iPhone games as they tend to last about 2-3 hours total.

I still don't know why people freak out about this games so much :p. I'd rather get iPhone games with more replay value like TouchGrind, Frenzic, or Fieldrunners :D. But whatever, have fun :p.

I think Hero of Sparta has 8 chapters. At least that's what I can see so far. Don't know if there's some hidden chapters.

I've played two chapters so far. Average about 10 minutes each chapter. Don't know if the last chapters take longer but if they all last approximately the same, that'll give you about 1 hour and a half of gameplay.

What I like about Hero of Sparta compared to Brother in Arms is that you're more into the story line.

EDIT: After playing more chapters, they get a lot longer. A few chapters have lasted more than 20 minutes for me. One even took me 30 minutes. I didn't die or anything, so it was a very long chapter.

Looks like a sick game! Let's have people comment on the ease of use. I find Cube almost impossile to actually use.

My longtime favorite games are those that take heaps of attempts to master. Chess, Fastlane, Fieldrunners, and Monkeyball.

I'm wondering if this Sparta game has more different kinds of moves than Kroll. Krill was pretty limited in the number of moves you could do. Dunno, if the reviews on Japan iTunes are fairly good (4 stars or above), I might just get it.

There are many more moves in Hero of Sparta than in Kroll. Haven't mastered them all but you can also hit a combination of 'buttons' for different moves. You also pick up new weapons and gear as you go along. So far I've picked up a helmet, a new sword, and a shield. I finished the third chapter in the game.

I think it's a pretty good game. You can also collect some gems and other items along the way. There are a set number in each chapter and if you miss one, you can even go back and replay the chapter to gather every item.

I got 5 gems of the same kind and my health meter grew :)

The controls are extremely easy, as well. A lot easier than Brother in Arms.

While Kroll is basically virtual button mashing and a shake, Hero Of Sparta varies up the control.

There is a virtual joystick on the left side, which works quite nicely. Sometimes on Kroll I would miss pressing the left or right button, which gets somewhat annoying.
There is an attack button and a shield (defense) button. And whenever you need to jump, a jump button appears.
Some of the gameplay is taken straight out of Kroll, like the special move which you do by sliding the shield button. It's a little less annoying than shaking the iPhone as in Kroll. Plus, with bosses you can do special things like stabbing him in the throat or decapitating him just by pressing certain buttons on the screen, which is pretty much a copy of Kroll.
What I like about Sparta is that you can fight in 360 degrees, whereas Kroll is a scroller.
And in Sparta you can get life back by finding a green crystal. I was annoyed that in Kroll you have no chance to get back your life bar.

I'm going to do a video sometime today.

Looks like a whole bunch of cut-scenes and a few seconds of actual gameplay.

There are cut scenes but trust me, it's mostly gameplay. The last 5 or so 'chapters' took me 30 minutes each to complete. I didn't die or take a long time, they actually take a long time to pass. The good thing is that it has checkpoints every so often and saves your progress.
