The photos of people holding it after the event make white look kind of matte and off-white, which I like. But the PR photos at the beginning of this thread make it look glossy.

If it's matte I'd want it. Something about the curved back going away makes the white more appealing now.

Not matte, shiny glass.

I cut a white notecard to the dimensions of my 3GS, and taped it to the phone to try to get a feel and see how I like the white. So far it's not bad.

Maybe it's just the online model, but I don't like the way the home-button looks on the white iPhone. I'm definitely going with the black.

Andddddddd I'm still dead set on the white one. I hope to God that there is no bull tomorrow morning when I try and pre-order from Apple.

Said bull would be epitomized by there being a constraint on white iPhone 4's and them not being available at launch.

I was 60/40 towards white (I have had a white 3GS for 6 months but all other iPhones were black - as both MacBook Pro and iMac with black bezels) but after seeing the SLASHGEAR hands-on video I am now 99% going with a white one, unless something crazy happens and I switch at the last second. For some reason the white front just looks so much sleeker than the black and plus my wife wants black (seems backwards right) - I'll be 100% happy with the white and it's not like we can't sell it a year from now and go buy a black one if it's that big of a deal - I love how we Apple fans act like this will be our very LAST phone ever, the next iPhone will be out soon enough and these will be traded-in.....going with WHITE!

Additional reasons not to get white?

The camera on the front interrupts the front of the phone. I think it's hideous and on the black one you can barely notice the camera. Also, I don't like the look of the ambient light sensor grill.

We're still gonna have the 30 day return period right? Just in case I regret my decision!

Hmm...good question. Will they allow you to exchange it for a different color? Going with white this time around and I gotta be honest I'm a little nervous about it even though I think it looks beautiful. You just never know until you actually physically hold it. The slash gear hands on video sold me on the white! Plus, to be honest with you I'm kinda getting tired of the black.

after reading majority of posts. i'm going with white.

the black just looks too much like the regular iphone from the front. the white gives it the classic og apple look, as in ipods, macbooks etc..

i do'nt mind the top ambient light sensor at all, stuff like that doesn't bug me.

don't get me wrong, the black looks sick, but its definitely a fingerprint magnet especially with all that glass on it.

I find it funny people are arguing the white one is ugly as if it were somehow physically different then the black, its just white thats all. Its not any different except for color, and I think it looks bad ass myself. Good the more white iPhones for me then!

iPhone 4 White vs Black

Okay I apologize ahead of time if this topic has already been discussed. Delete if necessary.

With that said, I was contemplating between white or black iPhone 4. I haven't had the chance to see the white iPhone in person (I don't even know if Apple has it out on display). I have the white 3g but when I see pictures of the white iPhone 4 on the apple website, it doesn't look as good as the 3G/3GS.

I reserved a black one but if I decide the get white what are my options?

Not sure a white iPhone will be available when you go to pick up your black one, so in that case the decision between the two should be relatively easy.

They have combined about 53 other threads on this subject into one giant thread.

Like I said, I apologize. I tried a quick search, couldnt find it.

I know it won't be available when I pick it up, but lets say I don't activate the phone when I pick it up and keep it sealed, can I exchange it later on?

Ive seen 30 days and Ive seen 14 days. If you cant wait to discuss it with the store you bought it from on June 24th, then call the store you bought it from today.
