My younger sister got a M5 MacBook Air and I told her to get Apple Care. The people at Micro Center sold her their protection. They are an authorized Apple Re-seller.

Any have experience with Micro Centers protection program? I’m debating if I should have her cancel it and get Apple Care, she’s still in the 30 day window.

I like Micro Center a lot, I buy from them often.

However, "protection plans" are something I avoid almost entirely. Especially third-party plans.

Regardless of that, if you (or she) is more comfortable with a plan - which is understandable - I'd opt for Apple Care, for a couple of reasons:

Micro Center has an extremely small number of stores as opposed to Apple, which is essentially worldwide.

Apple has spares/parts at the ready, with repairs taking either hours or a small number of days. Plus they have repair staff on-site for most locations and all they do is work on Apple hardware.

Compare what is covered, how long the coverage lasts, what the deductibles are.
Overall, I've bought Microcenter's protection plans in the past as they were short money, but I never did for an apple product I bought there

My hunch is that MicroCenter’s program is probably fulfilled by some third party of unknown reputation. AppleCare is a known quantity, available worldwide and generally has an excellent reputation. I would go AppleCare, no question.
