The all in one is almost exactly like the old iMac flower pot. Weightless screen adjustment + thin monitor. Not sure why apple decided to remove the functionality and go to the current iMac design.

I like these products but they're waaaaay too expensive.

Not exactly like those G3s but something of a descendant. I miss that iMac, talking about it again last night. It is still my most favorite.

@ipedro thanks for the photo.

Good grief! Microsoft's Jony Ive impersonator has out designed what Jony Ive could design! The question is whether Jony Ive can design as good as the Jony Ive impersonator who is impersonating Jony Ive and Microsoft...

Ive can't design cracp no more. He has been out of his game for a very long time now. All the bad designs you see right now are his approvals or his made by his hand

Going from software rendering in Quake to accelerated was like
I never played Quake, but I did play Moh:AA in those days and it was breathtaking. The entire game was breathtaking. I now look back on it and it's an utter PoS. Funny how 14 or 16 years makes a huge difference. Obviously, but that's beside the point.

No update to the surface... hopefully not following apples direction of withering on the vine before any update. I want a new computer and that ain't cutting it.

Meh.

Windows is still trash.

Cintiq style screens are only popular in a niche market.

Also Wacom has tablets that are used, which are way more comfortable.

No one in the professional industry uses Windows unless its the 3D industry.

Mannnnnn. I never played MoH:AA, but I played Medal of Honor: Frontline, which I think was essentially the same game but ported to consoles. My gosh, what a remarkable game. I can't even put it into words. For it's time, I feel it was the best WWII storyteller in the industry. You have me wanting to go back and play it right now! Although... it sounds like it hasn't aged well. Haha!

The first game I played accelerated was actually the original Tomb Raider. It freaked me out, being able to run the game in 800x600 for the first time.
I'd forgotten about old CRT resolutions. The only Tomb Raider game I remember playing was on the first Playstation. I bought it in 1996 at a staggering price for $185-220, the console that is.

Yep, that's correct. The PC version looked better depending on your setup. I liked the first two MoH console games more though. The mutiplayer for it was better than the campaign. I bought the Spearhead and Breakthrough (I think it was) campaign extensions, too. Those were pretty much the first DLCs in physical form. Years later, I moved towards Brothers in Arms and COD 2? Whichever the WWII one it was. After that, the only WWII games that came out where the MoH something or another and World at War in late 2008. Everything died down until the last couple of years with niche games like Sniper Elite and to a point, BF1 with its WW1 theme.

Same, I remember Tomb Raider was my first accelerated game and I would walk past pools of water just to see the reflections and effects. Stunning. Then when trying quake accelerated not long later (after completing the game using software rendering), my goodness. Those were truly awesome days.

I had a Playstation, but I wanted to get TR on the PC for some reason. Probably cuz I felt like I was neglecting it or something.

What's funny is that the game ran like absolute ass until I got my Voodoo 2 cards. I think I had to play it at 320x240 for it to be barely playable.

Yup. That was when everything was new, and the internet screamed at you when you logged into it.

Ahhh, memories.

Ah, I never played the online multiplayer for MoH: Frontline (as mentioned I had it on the PS2). But man, that story. It just felt so convincing.

Funny how war games beat the WWII genre to death so badly that we finally moved to modern-day with CoD 4: Modern Warfare. Fast-forward to now, and we (well, Call of Duty) has progressed all the way into the future. And I feel that the future isn't the setting that the majority of gamers want (I may be wrong). It's cool to see a return to older times with Battlefield 1.

But I just don't know that anyone could capture the feeling of war games from the early-mid 2000's ever again. What a cool time it was to be a gamer.

Its about the chips. All about the chips and intel delays. All the lovely analysts are predicting Jan/Feb based upon supply chain shenanigans.

I was strongly considering a Surface Studio, but it's limited to 16GB RAM, and it's an open question whether that can be upgraded by the user.

This is a very peculiar choice, as my Macbook Pro with 16GB runs out of RAM very easily when running Maya + iTunes + Chrome...

I guess i'll be getting an iMac instead!
