Edge seems more compatible with occasional websites I've come across. For example, I just bought a Logi MX Mechanical keyboard, and Safari wouldn't show me the download link for the Mac software, and Edge had no problem doing so.
Edge uses Chromium (the same thing used by Chrome, the world's most popular browser.) As a result, a lot of developers tend to develop/optimize their sites for Chromium. Safari uses WebKit.
No browser I know of 'pushes ads' and 'promotes scamming websites' - one using browser software always chooses where they go and what they see.
This actually happened. If you used the default home page and clicked on a legitimate-looking story/article, you could have been redirected to a scam web site.
While Google Chrome still dominates as the top browser, Microsoft Edge, which is based on the Chromium source code, is gradually gaining more...

Have you tried yourself? It’s shockingly faster always
I use both and honestly can't tell the difference for the sites I regularly visit. Some sites seem faster in Edge and others seem faster in Safari, but I wouldn't be able to tell the difference if I weren't comparing them side-by-side. Do you have any examples where it's "shockingly faster" in Edge?
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be anti-Edge here. I do use and appreciate both browsers. My main gripe with Edge is that it'll often open up some tab/ad that they want me to see when I launch it. Usually it's to go through a whole slew of new features in the latest Edge update. I wish they'd put that under the Help menu so I can check it out on my own terms when I'm not in a hurry.
Also, I just got this when I launched Edge a few minutes ago. It may not be an ad in the traditional sense, but it is still an ad (to promote Edge, Bing, Copilot, Microsoft Rewards, etc). Is there a way to disable this? I haven't found it yet.
