Update ... Still needing help!!

I am a new Mac user.... I have "x-plane9" but have not loaded it. I bought a new IMAC and plane to load it. The question that I have is, what is the best way to go for the hardware? The better yoak, rudder controls ect all talk about windows and to be honest, I do not want to spend the money only to find out it will not work on my machine...
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Thanks for any information that you share!

OK, well, X-Plane seems to really be what I wanted.... and the yoke and throtle controls seemt ot be working great. However, I have the "Pro Flight Rudder Pedals" from Saltek. Well, I cannot get the software to load>>> the "exe" file is for windows I guess and I am just not seeing hoe to load it on my Mac. If anyone can help... Many thanks!!

It is not necessary to load any drivers on the Mac to run the Saitek equipment. You just need to set the controls in X-Plane. Very straight forward.

Msf on new macbook pro13" don't run

hello
I bought 2 month ago a macbookpro 13"with intel graphic hd 3000.
Impossible to install microsoft flight simulator
The answer is: flight simulator is not running with your graphic card. download the latest drivers.
my mac is under lion
I tried with bootcamp, with virtualbox, with vista, with seven.
I downloaded driver 2509 from intel
two years ago i had a macbookpro 13" I installed bootcamp and vista and flight simulator was perfect.
I watched some forums, and all those who bought the latest macbookpro have the same problem and no one have the solution.

X-Plane will not run with Intel graphic 3000, so it is possible that MS FS will not run either.

That is interesting, because one of the high placed persons in the company making X-Plane said it would not run with Intel built in graphics.

Glad it works for you.

FS X in Crossover X/XI

The only way to run MS flight simulator is by installing Bootcamp/Windows...

Well, that's not true, at least not anymore.
I used FSX with Crossover Games 10 (CX10), now Crossover XI(CX11), which are derivatives of WINE.

Since there was some problems with CX10, no updates or upgrades could be installed. But even the naked unpatched Version ran with ~25 frames and pretty good looking.

Bootcamp/Win 7 on the same machine -> virtually "no" frames (±15) + bluescreen.

Also, using CX10, you have to merge the original DVDs in one big dmg for the installer to work. The DVD switch didn't work.

With CX11, installation with the Original DVDs was no problem.
Since I'm doing this right this minute, I can't say anything about updates etc.
I'll update this post as soon as I had time to test it all.

What is important, is to install the Font packages, otherwise all the labels in FSX are blank.

Edit:
Oh, I forgot something.
The machine is a 2010 15'' mbp, i7 (dual core), 8GB Ram.
