Yes.
I think the standalone versions require a Microsoft account to activate now.
Yes.
As long as you pay for both the stand-alone and M365 versions, I don't think Microsoft will have a problem with that. Can we use these versions with an M365 subscription?
Three copies used for five years is still nominally cheaper than the $99 subscription.ah that's very disappointing then! I have it on my desktop and Laptop and my wife's laptop so if that's 3 purchases it's not worth it!
Office 2024 comes in two editions. Office Home 2024 is $149.99 USD and includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote for one PC or Mac. Office Home & Business 2024 is $249.99 USD and comes with everything in Office Home 2024 plus Outlook and the rights to use the apps for commercial purposes. You can buy both editions from retailers worldwide and via Microsoft.comstarting October 1, 2024.
THIS IS BIG! For Microsoft to break the subscription mold and offer their flagship product in a standalone variant, that makes a huge statement! @adobe, you paying attention?
They consider 365 the preferred version as they want your money every month for eternity. There's no mention of the price, and from what I can see, it's not yet in the App Store.
I also wonder why they consider 365 to be the preferred version, yet in this version Excel performs faster.
I'm totally fine with it not having updates, but wonder if will at least get bug fixes and changes needed to remain compatible with future MacOS versions. If not, then I wonder when it will no longer work.
I agree it is overpriced. The good news is it will be on sale before long. The prices are insane:
only great value if you are going to use all the functions.Yeah, its great value with the included 1tb and even 1 hour free calling globally on Skype..
It’s not big, it’s just Microsoft reluctantly continuing to do what they always did. The last version was 2021. Office has a bit less of a moat than Adobe.THIS IS BIG! For Microsoft to break the subscription mold and offer their flagship product in a standalone variant, that makes a huge statement! @adobe, you paying attention?
The prices are what Office pricing has always been. The current prices were the same nine years ago for Office 2016, so considering inflation it’s actually cheaper now. And if you only need it on a single device, it’s also significantly cheaper than the subscription over five years. The prices are insane:
Never got my head around that. Car manufacturers do it too. MY25 when the car was released in '24.!!Why call it "2024" when we're almost in Q4?! It will look obsolete almost as soon as it launches...
I reckon it's the best value Office suite out there. The prices are what Office pricing has always been. I can't imagine why you would. The apps are the same and M365 gets more features. If you sign in with your subscription you aren't using the standalone license anyway. Can we use these versions with an M365 subscription?
