I wouldn't have thought this would happen, because it makes very little sense. Microsoft does not make the hardware their software runs on, they never have.

And as far as "If it's true Microsoft jumps to the forefront in one fell swoop" ... well, that's just silly. People are buying software, whether it's iOS or Android or whatever, they're not being fooled or duped into buying a certain brand just because it's statistically dominant.

I have always liked Nokia's hardware, can't say much for their OS. But it'd definitely be interesting to see where this rumored merger will go.

Microsoft to part with 75% of their cash horde for a deal they don't really need? That would be the end of Ballmer.

Hasn't he been wrong countless times on this? I'm not sure how I'd feel with a Microsoft owned Nokia.

I really do hope we see a turnaround for the Finish giant again. Always loved Nokia hardware myself. With decent software from Microsoft, I hope that they can pull it back.

Yeah i believe he is wrong more often than right but he does occasionally pull a rabbit out of a hat with all things Nokia.

I don't think it would make any sense as I don't see what apple would gain from that...
