Might jail break tonight

Hi I have an iPhone 3G running 2.2.1_5H11 and I'm using the IOUSBFAMILY workaround from the Dev-Team blog. I was just wondering what firmware I'm supposed to select in Simple Mode of Pwnage Tool. I have 2.1, 2.2., and 2.2.1. Thanks!

I would say that if you're running 2.2.1 on your phone, use the 2.2.1 firmware.

Alright, thanks. One more quick question: I just want to jailbreak, I don't want to unlock. Can I do this with Pwnage Tool or will it unlock my phone as well?

It will just jailbreak it. I don't know how to unlock it but there would an option to do more than just jailbreak. The link I've added to earlier posts how to one or both. Let us know how you get on.

Ok great. So when it asks if I'm a legit iPhone user just hit Yes and it will only jailbreak my phone?

OK so I've been through Pwnage Tool and made a custom restore .ipsw and went into DFU and now I'm plugged into iTunes, updated my carrier settings, and now I need to know if I restore from backup or set up as a new iPhone? Thanks.

I think I just restored from the backup because I didn't need to reinstall anything. My phone was exactly as it was before only jailbroken.
