I’ve had the X for more than a week now and I am not enjoying in it as previous phones. I am thinking about getting the Note 8.

What is the biggest drawback of switching platforms?

Need some answers quick as the Best Buy offer ends today.

Not all apps are available for both or even if they are you will need to re-buy anything that isn't free. Check the Play Store for any apps you use.

Trying to find where everything is located, and how to manage stuff like photos, music, etc.

Going the other way android to iPhone it was WhatsApp that caused us the most issues. Transferring messages from one to the other was tricky!

Biggest drawbacks are that your texts will appear green to people and you'll look like a nerd with an android
I acknowledge this may be viewed as clickbait. Don't view if you don't want to support an evil Android user. But this is an informative video from a lifelong Android guy. I had no idea iMessage was so kewl! and at the same time so lame.

Thanks for the replies. I had not consider the fact that you have to repurchase apps. I do not have many paid apps, but it is something I’d have to look into.

One thing I will say

if your friends use imessage and you do group chats be ready for a big adjustment at the start. Make sure you switch off imessage before switching otherwise texts will suddenly not always appear.

You won’t find a messaging app on Android as seamless and wonderful as iMessage... I learned this the hard way when I couldn’t send a simple video or large file picture

Man I came from galaxy I just hate how they lag and they are **** on Facebook you click on a pic and it just stutters. I had the s8

If you have the $$$, why not. As stated in the post above, you’ll discover a few pleasant surprises with the Note 8, and also find a few annoyances. One more thing you could count on, is the fresh and different experience than iOS. Only you can decide which platform is better for you.

Have fun.

If you do not mind me asking, which one do you use for work and why?

Right now my work phone is my iphone. The reason is for the security we have on them. This is where I love iOS. It is what it is. Simple and works. Of course in a good way. My personal is a s8 plus. I like it due to me setting up a phone to meet my needs and really like androids notifications. I was using two iphones for awhle but figured I would pick up the s8 to mess around with.

If you’re used to iOS then all of the above will frustrate you more than you can anticipate and you’ll get back to iOS in a couple of months if not weeks. Happens to me every time I try out Android to be my daily driver. Keep in mind I’m generally surrounded by both iOS and android devices 24/7.

best of both worlds

If I could run with both I would...but I don't see the cost being a good idea. I would get a note 8 if i was to go get another device

The iphone will definitely stay as my work due to MDP. There are time I think about switching both to iphones but there are times I find things about Android i would miss. Android just gives me the freedom to set up a phone like I want it. It does have cons as if you get something wrong the phone can have issues, lag, etc. The iphone you don' get to customize it like android but in turn it will for the most part work with no issues. That of course is a good thing but you just have to understand you are going to have to do things the Apple way.

What does android give you that iPhone doesn’t?
