In my understanding: NO. As I understand eSIM is attached to ICCID number (unique for every phone) and should be reactivated.Does the migration tool transfer the eSIM too ?

I've always done the migration. Takes a moment. Then re-downloads your apps. Doesn't take all that long really. You'll have to sign in to everything again.

Everything.is there an option of what you want to migrate over or will it just migrate everything?
Hello
Opinions needed. Which is a better method to setup your new iphone 11? Using the built in migration tool to copy over all your data or restoring from an itunes backup. Advantages/ disadvantages? Is using the migration tool the same as setting up as new and manually installing all your stuff?
I have always used the itunes restore method.
Thanks in advance!
Not 20 hours worth of a difference.TM backs up apps and a lot of other system settings as well as a lot more data than exists on most phones
Wait! What migration tool? I always just got the option to restore from iCloud or restore from iTunes.
So Basically there is no difference between doing the phone to phone migration versus an encrypted iTunes restore?
It's new starting with 12.4. Unless you've bought a new phone recently, you won't have seen this. There are some good pages on the web that describe how you invoke this during the new phone setup process.
I have an app on my iPhone XR that I want to copy over to my iPhone 11, but it's no longer available on the app store. What are my options?
Unfortunately, iTunes no longer saves the apps to your computer, so restoring from iTunes won't work. You may not be able to get that app on your new phone
