What servers are you guys currently playing on? I just purchased this game and would like to join a server. I do need some guidance though lol

This might be a stupid question, but can Mac and PC players play together online, on the same server?

Here's a server I just started, 65.8.220.85, enjoy. I'm going to try and run it 24/7.

Count me as one of the former skeptics. I saw a video of it awhile back and thought "Neat concept, but looks kinda 'meh'..."

When Notch had the free weekend a short while back, I gave it a shot and got instantly sucked in. This game is for anyone who either loved Legos as a kid, or loved builting forts out of their parents' couch and chair cushions. There's absolutely no story, no "goal", just building whatever you want and exploring wherever you want. Oh, and hiding from the monsters that come out at night.

The world is randomly generated as you explore, so if you cover a lot of ground your game save can get to be relatively large. The typical game save is about 5 megabytes, with the largest I've seen people achieve is a 15 megabyte game save.

I'd say, don't buy it until you've tried it... because it is very hit and miss. If you do give it a shot, use http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Main_Page as a handy guide for crafting. Until you gather enough wood to build a small shelter, workbench, and your first tools, Minecraft does appear to be very limited. However, after that, it opens up incredibly.

I really don't understand how people could call Minecraft a good game. It's so dull and pointless.

And the graphics... well...

Don't find it very fun, it's not the graphics that bug me - I play old games all the time - i just find it really confusing.

Like I said, it's very hit and miss. It's not possible to have a neutral view of this game... it's either the best thing since sliced bread, or it's a total waste of time.

I bought it, I want to like it, but where do I start? I have been playing single player, running around and breaking blocks, looking for secrets and randomly building things. I haven't combined anything together into recipes yet. There are very few tutorials on the web, too. Suggestions? It seems like a game I would really like.

What browser are you using?

currently i am using chrome (the latest build). but i have firefox and safari (all current builds), but they too appear to be having the same issue.

I also noticed upon initializing the game within the browser my expose window (the place where the windows slightly shrink and a blue background resides behind the window) shows ghost blue boxes (i.e. the blue box expose bug).

what do you think?

I can't help you with that but I can say that for me the game runs in Safari but not Chrome.
