The Mini 6 has Apples Liquid Retina display, which is the same as the Iphone XR/11, Ipad Pro 2018 onwards (minus 120 hz) and Ipad Air 4. Its the best LCD tech they have developed, so it is slightly better in colour reproduction and contrast than the P3 LCD retina screens in the Iphone 7 and 8, Mini 5 and Air 3 for example.
My eye says differently.

Come citations are needed here..

Where are you getting color reproduction and contrast measurements showing the Mini 6 screen to be superior to the Mini 5 screen?
I cant provide any references, but i did read this on a few occasions here on macrumours, and some other tech forums regarding ‘liquid’ retina displays having slightly better colour reproduction and contrast ratio than previous ‘retina’ displays. I mean Apple advertised the Ipad Pro 2018 as having superior colour reproduction when it was released, and that uses the same LCD screen (albeit with higher brightness and 120 hz).

oh yes…the massive leap in screen size and area is just mesmerizing

No sarcasm, it is. Use two apps on an iPad mini 5 and you have two iPhone apps in landscape, the 6 is actually usable and enjoyable.

I really don't get the hate on the Mini 6 screen, this is coming from someone now using 120hz OLED on an iPhone 13 Pro and switching back and forth constantly. Yes, 60hz lcd is worse, but not that much worse. I'm getting rid of my 11" iPad Pro with promotion because the mini fits my needs better (Being a tablet and not a crappy laptop replacement - I'll be back to the pro in iPadOS 18 when Apple starts to make some progress on that front.)
