Hopefully mini LED comes to the 11" model as well. My 2018 is still strong as ever and the 2020 11" doesn't have enough upgrades to justify spending more IMO but a new screen technology with HDR support, better contrast and better daylight usage would be a worthy upgrade.

So now it is getting interesting Digitimes is still speculating the Mini-Led iPad Pro is still on course to be released in the end of 2020 ! But only 12.9" ! Why not 11" also ? And I wonder the folks who now see no merit in upgrading to the 2020 iPad Pro which were announced on Tuesday. Would the same folks be interested in the 12.9 Inch Mini-Led iPad Pro then ?
Digitimes isn't very reliable.

I considered waiting, but since I’m upgrading from a 6th gen iPad with barely any storage, I don’t want to wait any longer. If the later in the year model is that different, I’ll see about selling this one and doing another upgrade. Most likely, won’t bother though.

That's my thing right now. I have a 5th gen iPad Pro with 32gb and honestly hate playing the waiting game.

Going out on a limb here.
I think it’s the 12.9” iPad Pro model only because it’ll be the same mini LED panel as the speculated ARM Macbook and the two will launch together.

They’ll basically be largely the same core hardware (A14X, more RAM) but the iPad Pro will remain modular with the Magic Keyboard whilst the ARM Macbook will be integrated. Storage options and no. ports will favour the ARM Macbook.

Maybe a reason they skipped the A13X for the current iPad Pro update, to make a splash with the A14X.

darn..ordered a 12.9" iPad pro just yesterday..not really upgrading as i plan on keeping my 2018 11 inch for a little while longer but now I'm not sure if i should cancel my order and just wait..

than again...theres always going to be something new coming out.

Can someone explain to me what exactly the difference is between mini LED and whatever screen the 2020 iPad pro has?

I’ve had the 10.5 (256gb) Pro for just shy of 3 yrs now. Mine has the decorative white spot just above the home button 😉. Was waiting for the March 2020 update to upgrade. Might do it...with the 128gb 11 inch 2020 being $750 (Costco)...very compelling!

But, if I knew there would be an iPad mini update this yr that featured a new (iPad Pro) form factor (ie no home button, reduced bezels, etc..) and with new display technology (mini LED or OLED), I’d hold off on upgrading my 10.5 pro (ie just keep it)...as the mini would be a very compelling “addition“ for my use.
