Minor Tiger annoyance

Since switching to Tiger, when I arrange the file icons on my desktop, the filenames on the bottom row are positioned "behind" rather than above the dock - so it is impossible to read them! Is there a way to correct this?

I think the best solution is simply to not fill your desktop with files and folders. Perhaps you should use your home directory for this stuff? I've always been a bit of a minimalist though...

I noticed the same thing (desktop icons not respecting the dock position) in Tiger 10.4.0, but it was fixed in either 10.4.1 or 10.4.2. If you haven't updated, you might want to.
