Very nice. There was a chance we might get them as far south as here last night. But even though I was awake at 2 am I couldn’t go out with my camera due to a neck injury. Plus if I’d woken Mrs AFB I’d probably had another injury.

This was with my Canon R5 full frame camera & just gotten 10-20mm UWA lens at 10mm . About 1.5 hours of exposure, I had another 45 minutes but clouds came in.
This was so cool, riding and truly seeing the Aurora Thursday October 10th with naked eyes on Mtb trail . Seemed 10:10pm was the peak, corona was overhead and so mesmerizing, speechless. Kept stopping to … well look up.
This is not exactly related to photography, but a question about satellites. I’m one of those nerds who will make a point to go outside on a night when the ISS goes over. I’ve noticed this year that I’m able to see a lot of other satellites with a naked eye. As I sit on my patio tonight I’m seeing one every few minutes. Is it Starlink?
Some will be StarLink, but there are a great number of satellites orbiting earth. This article was dated June 2024, but just a couple of days ago SpaceX launched 4 satellites, although I have no idea if all were StarLink satellites:
