The iPad app visually is stunning, but there are a few features that are available in the iPhone versions that AREN'T in the iPad version for some reason, most notably, the ability to watch video highlights of a particular game AFTER the game is over. Unless I'm missing something, all you can do is view the box score after the game ends. I just tested it on the iPhone version and pulled up a game from yesterday, and all the video highlights are available.

You can still see highlights. On the screen that comes up after a game there are three tabs at the top......Box Score, Highlights, Summary.

Question for you: if you've tried it, how does does it look watching on a TV? I'm probably going to cancel my cable in the near future and just get the few shows I watch through iTunes and also MLB.tv.

I watch the games, not on a tv, but on a monitor connected to my mbp, it's not full hd, but it's 720 and quality is very good.... UA connection though.

Very disappointed with the app today for the first time. Video was very choppy and hopefully they'll get it fixed.

Yup, still offering one free video stream per day.

Does anyone know how to tell which games have a free video broadcast? Like is there a calendar anywhere or an indicator in the app? I don't have an mlb.tv subscription, but I have the app and can't figure out how to watch any free video broadcasts.

The free games are shown in the app Video selector with blue text above the free game noting that it is the free game of the day.

As of right now, the free game must have been a day game since I don't see any of the current games listed as free.

If you press the video icon there will be an indicator next to the game that is broadcast for free. If you see a list with no indicator (like if you check now), then it means that the free game has already been played. Check first thing in the morning. I think it's notated by a star but don't remember.

My biggest gripe with this app is the lack of season stats. I'd like to at least see league leaders, but it would be nice to check team stats as well.

Cool. Thanks for the info!

Ok so looks like the later game tonight is the free game.....see the screenshot below.

The problem I'm finding is they don't list the feeds until close to game time.....so you never know what is going to be free.

I had the Rays/O's game on for about an hour streaming and it crashed. Still seem to be some stability issues.
