MLB at Bat update is out!!!!

Booooo!!!!! no video airplay yet... just a regular bug update
 
I was hopeful as well. But my guess is the AirPlay update isn't coming until March 31st; opening day. Come on MLB we all want AirPlay support NOW!!!!!:D
 
When I updated it the update description said something along the lines of "compatibility across all iOS devices". I took that to mean when 4.3 is released the video will become airplay enabled.
 
As a college student whose internet provider blocks airplay (and doesn't even let me access my itunes library) is it possible that the iOS update might make it so that MLB At Bat runs like Netflix does on the ATV?

nope. im running 4.3 on my iphone and apple tv now and no go with video airplay
 
Airplay from MLB At-Bat would put me very close to dumping cable TV. What would be even better would be an MLB At-Bat app directly on the ATV2.

How can they block airplay? You wouldn't even need an internet provider to use AirPlay on your local network.

once mlb can airplay on atv or becomes an app for atv im dumping cable. it will just give me an excuse to go out and drink beers = )when the games are on network stations and mlb is blacked out
 
Does anybody know if you can use a cable to connect an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to a TV and watch a game on the MLB app?

Not as convenient as Airplay, but it would do in a pinch.

iPad 2's HDMI adapter and screen mirroring would seem to make this possible.
 
Certainly does make one think about dumping cable. I got MLB.tv the other day after I heard that the Samsung blu ray app had been updated to allow streaming of spring training games--it is a nice service although resolution is not always great depending on the feed. Now I just have to update my lite At Bat and I'll be set for the season. Now if only the NFL would have something like this but of course they would charge a lot more than $20 a month.

how would you connect the app on your ios device through a proxy?
the ios devices like iphone and ipads use the gps to determine if you are in a black out area
 
i phones and ipads do,, not sure about the apple tv though. there has to be a way around this somehow
