I'm concerned that I'll have to upgrade to 3.1 to get MMS to work on the phone. This may or may not be the case because everything may just be in the carrier file, but I don't want to upgrade to 3.1 because of all the issues people have been having with it.

im in chicago, already have 5.1 as my carrier file, and its not working, just wondering if you think i will need to re-update or will it just turn on? should i put 4.0 back on?

i cant wait for it to get here so i can actually recieve an mms and be able to view it!! i recieved two of the "go to this website to view your message", messages yesterday and neither one worked when i tried to log in and view my message!!

etc. etc. etc. etc.

A very reliable source of mine has confirmed that MMS will arrive between 12:01am and 11:59pm on Friday.

I just called the CEO of AT&T (Randall and me are buddies, well, not really, I have a 4th cousin who is married to someone whose sister's daughter's dog's 8th cousin once removed was in the same obedience school class as Randall's dog so I know him!) and he confirmed this time.

I had just found this on google.

Nastradamus: "When the 25th occurs in the ninth month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar during brightest hour of the day, communication will become vivid with images."

Some believe that this refers to the introduction of MMS on the iphone.

My dog agrees. Oh and Morgan the spacekitty does too, she says meeooow so see?

Kanye West just said

"Yo ATT, I'm really happy for you and Imma gonna let you finish, but the Pre had one of the best MMS rollouts of all time"

Restriction is removed in Chicago!

I had my carrier file updated to 5.1 for a while now and have since tried sending a mms everyday to no avail. I tried this morning and it worked!!! So it looks like the database has been updated to remove the mms block on iPhone accounts. Now for everyone else who hasn't loaded 5.1, I guess you just have to wait until AT&T updates the carrier file on friday...

MMS now working in Northern VA

Had the 5.1 carrier update last week with 3.1 on a 3g. MMS wasn't working...turned on sometime yesterday.

those with 5.1 and working mms. How can you possible know if 5.1 is the final and complete carrier file that will be released? Isn't it possible that something might be missing from the file or not optimized for the network? Just saying...

it will be interesting on the 25th to see a) if someone compares the two files and b) those on 5.1 experience problems somewhere down the road vs those with the official release from at&t...

no one answered? is this going to be an update done in the background or i will have to do it from itunes.

Smart assets aside, I've had the iPhone since two months after 2G came out and have had no MMS since. I think I can wait for AT&T to update it on Friday.

If all it takes is a carrier file, it could be up early. But if it requires 3.1.1 or 3.2, I would expect it to appear around the time a OS usually appears...around 12 noon PDT.
