OK, yesterday, and finally in the late afternoon, I got MMS working on my iPhone. I am using the 3.0 GM, the AT&T Carrier file that is floating around, and the settings for MMS that are also floating around.

Here is what I did:

1. I took the sim card out of my iPhone and placed into a spare AT&T phone.

2. Call AT&T and tell them you have replaced your iPhone with another phone and that you would like to enable to MMS and MediaNet on this phone.

3. They will tell you they are getting rid of the iPhone data plan and are adding unlimited MediaNet.

4. They will tell you to test everything out and MMS and MediaNet should work on this substitute phone.

5. They will ask you to rate them on a scale from one to five (the best) and be sure to give them a five because when you put your sim card back into your iPhone, you will be able to send MMS and surf the net with an unlimited MediaNet plan which is cheaper than the Iphone data plan.

Here's the one thing that irks me though: no voice mail!

So is using the MediaNet package the same thing as using the iPhone data plan to sure the web and buy apps?

I am a noob, but can this be done on a PC. I have done most of what you said but I am having a problem finding the .ipcc file and how to install it, it seems everyone is on macs that do it.

Newportpaco: I did this on a PC. In order to install the ATT carrier file, you need a pre-release version of iTunes that would allow you to install this carrier file. The current version of iTunes does not allow you to install the carrier file. This pre-release version of iTunes can be easily found using a torrent program.

Thank you for your help, I can find the pre-release version of iTunes but cant find the carrier file, any ideas?

Go to that link and it should lead you to the third page of the thread. At the top of the third page is a link to a zip file that has the carrier file!

You are great, thanks for your help. One thing tho, I am now able to use the features and have changed the network setting to some I found on here and it gets close to sending but stops just short. Any ideas?

Edit: I have to say me not being so computer literate, this is really fun like a puzzle.

That is what used to happen to me until I made sure I had medianet unlimited and MMS enabled on for my phone number. You quoted the steps I used to get medianet and mms on my iphone a few posts up. Have you talked to AT&T and fooled them into thinking you replaced an iPhone with another device?

I did but my cellular network wouldn't work at all ( no edge and 3G only wifi ) and on the other phone I could send and get mms but when I tried with the iphone no dice. The little message icon doesnt say mms like I see in a lot of the screen shots, but I can use the system and place pics to send they just dont go anywhere. Confused because I did everything like you said but it seems that everyone seems to get it to work one way or the other. I think my problem was that I used a crappy go phone.
