3G, OS 3.01 - Carrier 5.0 w/MMS & Tethering

Order of operations:

1. install OS 3.01
2. Jailbreak (not required)
3. Enabled tether via http://help.benm.at
4. Installed carrier 5.0 and rebooted (no manual settings entry).

Good to go!

Probably a dumb question but how do I get to the MMS settings to type all that info in? Or do I need a different carrier file?

+1... Am I missing something in the Settings. I can't find any place where it lists my APN for the MMS settings or to alter them...

I know when i insert a different some (i've unlocked my phone) it allows me to however not with the AT&T sim

All of these threads are pointless. Either you installed a hacked carrier file or are jailbroken. End of story.

Yes, MMS may send for you but what good is that if a bunch of your other friends have iPhones as well? I know my wife, sister, and close friends aren't about to go installing hacked carrier files to their phone when all this is coming officially in a week.

Besides, I have a feeling everyone will go back to email once the "novelty" wears off.

Hey buddy.... the title of this thread is not "Who thinks MMS, Jailbreaking and hacking carrier files is lame?"

The only thing pointless in this thread is your post.

Still not working for me. 3.0.1 JB 3gs. Use all the settings you guys have posted. No go here in Los Angeles.

Carrier: AT&T 5.1

I live in Modesto, Ca (90 miles east of San Jose, Ca) and I Just added the ATT Carrier 5.1 on my Sister's iPhone 3G and on my 3GS and it worked fine on her phone (she's on my moms family plan) but it didn't work for me (i have my own separate plan) .

i guess i'll just wait till the 25th...

I installed the latest carrier file to my 3.1 phone, no jailbreak.

Yes you need to add a file but the point is that AT&T is starting to open the doors before the 25th deadline. I'm just glad I no longer have to bust my hump just to get this to work now.

It's been working for me since last Saturday in Sacramento.

iPhone 3G
OS 3.0.1
Jailbreak (not required)
5.0 carrier file (tethering hack from benm)

Did this back in August (Jailbroke 3.0) and installed the 5.0 carrier file. Same settings from back then work now.
