right now my Mail app is 100% OK. so do i need to tweak these settings come 1st July or now?

looks like my emails via icloud.com is working again :cool:

Is your Mail app posting via the red circle any new emails to iCloud? If it is, I wouldn't worry about changing the settings. If it isn't, then I'd change them.

Sorry, posting was a bad word to use.
Is your Mail app counting the number of unread emails and displaying them in a red circle in your dock?
If so, I'd leave it alone. If not, I'd change the settings.

Right, I see. My Mail app shows a BLUE (rather than red) dot next to unread messages. And this is the same in iCloud emails (blue dot also). So both platforms are showing consistency.

Your thoughts/advice?

No, not the unread mail inside Mail and iCloud. The Mail app itself in the dock. This:

If yours is displaying this red circle showing unread emails, leave it alone. If not, change the settings. Gotta run. Good luck.

LOL, ok. yeah mine has 28034 unread! man, didnt know i had that many unread

my Mail app is so fat

Well it's beat's 'your momma's so fat' as a joke :p

Just finished migrating all my websites from my MobileMe / iDisk too. Really can not understand why apple couldn't just offer the same existing MobileMe service for customers who were always quite happy to pay for it. The fact we have to now pay someone else, and Apple give us this 'gimped' version of what we had for free - surely means less revenue for Apple, despite ongoing running costs for iCloud servers anyway. ??

Congrats. It looks like you are ready to rock with iCloud.
Now get off of MacRumors and start reading some of them emails! :D

Thanks for all your help bro :D Just hope come July my Mail app doesn't choke, in which case I'll be running back to this thread to change my settings. Just strange that some of you have made changes and some haven't and so far seems to work ok
