MobileMe bookmarks

I recently bought a MobileMe subscription and am very happy with the push syncing of contacts.

But syncing bookmarks is not as trouble-free, because you can't access your bookmarks through me.com.

I'd like to continue syncing my bookmarks between my iphone and macbook, but ALSO be able to access and manage those bookmarks whilst on other computers, particularly my work computer which uses Internet Explorer. (I can't download syncing software at work.)

Does anyone have good advice on this?

Get a piece of paper and a pen. Then write down the url and name of every bookmark you have, and group them accordingly to their order/folder/location.

Then, take the piece of paper to work and add your bookmarks manually how or as close as you can get to the way you have them at home.

Yeah, give up in Safari, Firefox and Chrome and start using Opera instead. You actually log in to the browser and whatever updates you make to your bookmarks it'll happen across every device so long as your logged in.

I use this for three macs and the occasional phone use, works perfect. You can probably export and import your old bookmarks the traditional way too to get them in there in the first place.

Can't download it at work you say?

Well, that is a slight problem as it requires the browser really, but you can login to My Opera and manage the bookmarks from here but I've never needed to do that yet.

Why the other browsers don't run like this I'll never know.

{snip} You seemed to indicate you purchased mobile me on e-bay & got it for $54. This interests me greatly because I didn't know there was a way to get around Apple's $99 subscription fee. {snip} But how does this work if you already have mobile me? I paid the $99 and my year expires early next year. {snip}
For clarity's sake: A month or so ago, I purchased an "old version" of MobileMe from Amazon, for $42. My trial MM sub expires January 11th. The box arrived, containing only a mere slip of paper, containing an activation code and an URL. Went to the URL, and entered the code. I was then asked if I wanted to create a new account, or apply it to a pre-existing account. I chose the latter. It then "took". When I checked my account page, I saw that Apple had deducted "$99" for a year's subscription. Nice surprise-- doesn't matter when you enter the activation code during the trial (or current sub)-- you will still get the full length of that period, with the new sub kicking in immediately thereafter.

Read: easy peesy. :D

(Tip: I have Firefox's PriceDrop extension installed. It adds a line, directly under the item's price on the Amazon page, allowing you to "track" the item. I did this with the "old version" of MM. PriceDrop will notify you if and when the price drops, via a little pop-up on the desktop. I waited a few weeks, during which time the price dropped by a good $12 or so. When it hit $42, I pounced, as prices are known to go back up as well. But, generally speaking, patience **is** rewarded.)

Irony...Chrome does exactly this already fully built into the browser. With bookmarks in particular, you can access them on the web in your Google Docs. I know FF will have a sync feature built in with 4.0 but not sure about the checking on the web.
