I was poking around my iphone 5 this morning and came across the N41AP.plist in the

/System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app/

I changed the values of things I recognized from true to false and put it back on my iphone 5... rebooted once and the phone is so much quicker now.

Has anyone else done this?

I have a copy of the original plist still on the phone in case, but there have been no problems so far.

I wonder why no one else has tried this yet...

What things did you change?

set these to false:
accessibility
assistant (siri)
bluetooth
bluetooth le
gamekit (gamecenter)
hardware keyboard
nike-ipod
shoebox (passbook)
siri-gesture
voice-control

thats all ive modified so far...

No it's not a placebo effect, instagram took at least 20 seconds to load before, now its under 5.
I'm just using instagram as a example because it's a resource heavy app.

Do you have Geekbench installed to do a benchmark ?
I want to see a bechmark score because I want to speed even more my iPhone 5.

Seeing as restoring your device is no longer an option, I would be very careful with messing with such .plists :D

are you using fakeclockup as well?

anyone else willing to do this with a before and after?

I have used both, I am sure that with fakeclockup my phone feels faster than it did with accelerate. Accelerate is an amazing concept for a 13 year old but fake clock up runs quicker to me.

Yes I currently use fakeclockup.

Lol....its exactly the same

Not quite. Accelerate is a poorly made rip off of FakeClockUp. It also messes with iOS' power saving features in attempt to make it faster. Because of this, FakeClockUp has much better battery life.
