The Satechi gets very hot. The ethernet stopped working after ten minutes. I can't tell whether this is an issue with the network or whether the dongle's heat somehow affects the connection. The latter seems unlikely, but I'm quite ignorant. I'm switching to the Mac HMDI dongle for now, but was hoping to get ethernet, too.
The LG on the other hand is very good! The text is sharp, it doesn't dominate my desk, and I'm already more productive! Lots more real estate and at high resolution.
