My Monowear black metal link band just arrived from Amazon ($120). The price was slightly steep but the quality seems pretty decent so far. The links on the sides are brushed stainless steel and the links down the middle are polished stainless steel. The contrasting finishes give the band a more premium look. The clasp seems a little flimsy but should hold up since it doesn't get much action except when putting it on or taking it off. The Monowear emblem is etched into the metal clasp which is nicer than if it were printed. The lugs fit well but you can clearly see that these are a cheaper quality than Apple's lugs. The brushed/polished finish is present on the lugs as well but on one of my lugs it is off-center but is hard to notice without close inspection. The links were easy to remove for sizing using a 1mm jewelers screwdriver and hammer. A paper clip may work as well since it didn't require much force to dislodge the pin. I needed to remove 2 links to properly size the band for my 177mm wrist. Overall I'm happy with the band. I think it should have probably been priced below $100 though for the quality. It's definitely much nicer than my $20 Pebble Steel band though. Here are some pictures of it on my Space Gray Sport.

Wow! Very nice, indeed. I've been looking into these bands for a couple days now, and they are definitely on my wish list. They really do look quite nice with the watch!

Thanks for posting so many pics!

I also wanted to add that the band is connected to the lugs using standard 22mm watchband spring bar pins. This means you could remove the metal link band and add other bands. The only problem would be the relatively small clearance (~1mm) between the pin and the lug. Thick leather bands may not work. But it's nice to know that these lugs will accept other bands thus increasing the value of buying this band.

I'm glad you're liking it, but I am not a fan of how far the connectors stick out from the body of the watch. It really breaks up the smooth lines of the main device.

Damn you !!! That looks really awesome. Now I have to get one. Still waiting for my SG 42mm Sport (probably June), but this looks like a perfect set up. Almost bought this last night on Amazon, you made my decision easy, great pics !

They didn't research 'space grey' before production obviously.

It's not terrible, but I'm waiting for a band like Apples that is the same space grey colour as the watch case, preferably in aluminum also.

When did you order it?

I ordered it May 5. It was supposed to ship Friday, May 8, but didn't ship until yesterday from a local distribution center via USPS.

Yeah, the band is definitely black, not space gray. The lugs are closer to space gray but still not a perfect match. An Apple band in space gray would be great, just make it $200 and not $450.

It's not bad. I've only been sitting at my desk typing since I installed it but so far I've had no annoying hair pulling and the weight is substantial but not excessive. Makes the lightweight Sport model feel more premium.

I also preordered from their website in Apr and still waiting, very disappointing. I wonder if you ordered from Amazon today if it would still arrive before ours.

Kind of mad at MW now as I ordered straight off their website on 4/26 and received an email pushing my product back a week (I ordered the same thing in 42mm). Is yours a 38 or a 42? Im asking as that might be the reason why?

Sent a frustration email... and I get this in seconds back...

"Hello Jae,

We are trying our best and processing a large amount of orders daily. We are so sorry for the delay and hope you can understand.

Thank you,

-Leslie"

I replied...

"I do understand, especially as a start up but I can’t excuse a person getting a product in 7 days and myself told to wait almost a month due to product restraints. Should have been a first come first serve, not a random lottery. Just an opinion."

Item looks great though! Cant wait to get mine... in a year or two... :D

Great pics. I'm still waiting for my monowear stainless steel mesh band. Thank you for the report on the quality of the band.

Thanks for the review, I was anticipating this one. It's sad to see that the finish (on the adapters at least) isn't even proper space gray to match the case. It looks very third-party. I backed Click and am just hoping that the finish will match now.

Yeah its ridiculous as they have Kickstarter backers that still haven't received them yet either. I emailed them asking about it and heard nothing back.

After looking at these pictures a bunch of times over and over, I just don't think the quality is there for $120 with the mismatched colors of components and the gap at the connector, so I cancelled my order and purchased a black leather loop from Apple.

For international orders (I'm from Canada) it's actually cheaper to buy from Amazon.com rather than directly from Monowear. It costs $6 to ship from Amazon, but $20 to ship from Monowear. I stupidly paid the extra to buy from Monowear directly because I thought they would ship it faster (I emailed Monowear and confirmed that it would take longer from Amazon since the shipment goes to Monowear first then to Amazon). Obviously they gave me the wrong info. I am now considering to cancel my order.
