I have found that Apple's SS link did scratch easily. I wore it for about two days, and already noticed scratches at the clasps. I understand that SS does scratch, but at $450, it did matter a lot more.

Since I have used both, the best decision for me was to return Apple's link and keep my 3rd party band. With the money I saved, I was able to try out order other 3rd part bands.

Thanks for posting. That does seem to be a lot of scratching on the Apple SS.

I like the look of the monowear better. But the clasp on the Apple seems more secure. Did you have a preference on the claps between the two? And does the apple SS feel heavier?

Did this happen with normal usage?

As far as aesthetic, how would you rate the look and feel or the Monowear band vs the apple link band. Does it look just as good, or is there a noticeable quality difference?

Sorry for all the questions and thank you for taking the time to answer them.

The scratches happened in less than a week of normal use. Aesthetically speaking, my wife likes the Monowear link bracelet better. Apple's link did remind me of Casio's older style watches. If Appe didn't create it, I don't think I would have been so interested. Both the Monowear and Apple link weigh about the same. Both aren't heavy at all. Without touching it with my other hand, and if I closed my eyes, and had one on my wrist, I don't think I'd be able to tell which one I had on.

@trek360 I like the Monowear clasp better. The Apple band, you had to lock two clasps, (one on each side) and sometimes, it wouldn't click into place and lock on the first try.

Don't worry about the questions. That's one of the reasons this form is around. Good luck with your decision.

I was also a Kickstarter backer for Click. I ordered the Click M Stainless Steel. As far as I know, they haven't shipped yet and their last update on Kickstarter was on May 10th, where they informed everyone they hope to ship by mid-late June. As soon as they come in, I'll be sure to post on here.

Thanks again for all your help, I decided to hold off on the apple link band. I am not completely liking the "80's Casio" style of the band, especially at $450. I think I am going to order the leather band from apple, the screw driver for it and the monowear band. With all three I will still be around half the cost of the apple link. Anyone try the Hoco stainless steel bands?

Have you returned the Apple link Bracelet yet? Was there any issue with returning it with the scratch marks?

I have an Stainless Steel link bracelet as well and also have a small scratch on the clasp. I am unsure if I want to keep my link bracelet at the moment. Size wise I am between link sizes. On one setting its just a bit too tight but if I add a link it is too loose. I tried using both settings for a few days and found that when the watch was too loose I was not getting accurate measurements from activity tracking, and it moved around too much when exercising. I wish the link bracelet allowed you to make micro size adjustments (like my Tag Heuer link bracelet does).

Still a few days to think about it though.

I just got back from the Apple Store. No one in the Apple Store knew how to return just the band and not the entire watch. They kept on saying it was a new procedure and no one was sure what to do. I showed them the return request email that I received, and it said that I had the option to ship or return my item at an Apple Retail Store. They even called customer service asking how to return just the band. I showed them the scratches and they said it wasn't an issue. After waiting about 30 minutes, they said that I would have to ship it back. Total waste of time going to the store. On a side note, my replacement band (Black Sport) came in today.

Thanks for the update.

I am still undecided about keeping my link bracelet. I like the bracelet, but being between two sizes is annoying. At the moment I am adjusting the band twice a day. When I exercise I remove a link and then put a link back on afterwards. The actual process is not that difficult but it means I have to keep a spare link in my wallet.

I did purchase a Hoco link bracelet off eBay as well, however I don't really like the lugs on the bracelet (but I do like the band design more). I prefer a band where the watch can lie flat rather than maintain the loop (like the Apple link bracelet).

I still have a week to decide.
