Restarting every day here. Anyone know if 12.5 beta solves it? Was hoping for an update connected to WWDC, maybe after it finishes this week...

13 solves the issue for me but that’s still in beta so I understand that people don’t want to use that

I've found sometimes I have to unplug, turn off the machine, then plug in while the power is off.
I get the chime, then I can start and boot and it continues working.

Whatever it is, it is VERY annoying. Hope a fix is coming down the line soon

Just seeing this behavior now on my M1 Max 16". Freaked me out. MagSafe wouldn't work, USB C wouldn't work. Then I shut it down completely, and from its totally off state, plugged in USB C charger and now it works. SMC resets on these with a shut down. That was 2 days ago. This morning it was a little sketchy going on USB C power again but found it. Hopefully it gets better.

I posted my reply then found this. Same.

MacOS 12.5 is now released (on the regular non-beta track). Since updating I haven't had any issues, but it might be too early to tell, since I restarted recently. The 12.5 changelog doesn't mention this issue, or any other bugs, specifically.

On 12.4 I'd typically encounter faulty USB-C charging after 4-12 hours following a restart (regardless of full SMC resets).

My charging issue calmed way down under 12.4. I have 12.5 installed and so far so good.
