Mophie has three new Qi2 charging accessories available as of today from Apple retail stores, including a 3-in-1 Travel Charger, a Wireless Charging Vent Mount, and a Magnetic Vent Mount.

The $150 3-in-1 Travel Charger features a Qi2 MagSafe charging surface for the iPhone, which can provide up to 15W to a compatible iPhone. It also has an Apple Watch charger that offers up to 7.5W for fast charging Apple Watch Series 7 models and later, and a 5W AirPods charging surface.

A 40W wall adapter is included for charging all three devices at once, and it comes with international plug configurations for the United States, UK, European Union, and Australia. The iPhone charging surface can be used while flat or while lifted up, and in the lifted mode, it is compatible with StandBy.

The charger folds up in half so that it can easily be tucked away in a backpack or a suitcase when traveling, plus Mophie includes a Travel Case that holds the charger and the power adapter that comes with it.

Mophie's $70 Wireless Car Vent Mount provides up to 15W for charging a compatible iPhone with Qi2. It is designed to connect to a vent using an adjustable hook, and it has a wide base that holds the iPhone securely in place.

The mount can tilt and swivel so that the viewing angle can be optimally adjusted, and one hand can be used to mount the iPhone and remove it. The vent attachment works on car vents up to 41mm deep, and Mophie includes a USB-C to USB-C cable, a 20W USB-C car adapter, and two cable management clips.

If in-car charging isn't needed, Mophie also has a $30 Car Vent Mount that holds an iPhone in place via MagSafe, allowing it to be used for navigation, hands-free calls, and more. With the exception of charging capabilities, it is identical to the Wireless Mount, featuring multiple viewing angles, one-handed operation, and a strong magnetic hold.

Mophie's new products can be purchased from the Apple online store or in Apple retail locations.

I know that StandBy has to have a MagSafe charger, not just Qi 2, for it to be able to tell them apart for the purposes of different screen setups in different places. How do you know if a product supports that? What is the wording used vs Qi2?

Actually it doesn’t require a magsafe charger at all.

Wouldn’t want to have the weight of any modern iPhone (plus the charger’s weight) attached to one of my car‘s vents.

I use the Mophie Snap+ 3-in-1 Qi2 charger for my iPhone and StandBy works just fine on it. Maybe it is MagSafe? Idk. It says MagSafe compatible, but is listed as Qi2 on Zagg’s website.

These companies are just trolling us now to see who can make the most ridiculously priced travel charger and still get people to buy it. Just because it’s sold in Apple stores doesn’t mean you have to adopt Apples price gouging strategy ffs

I have in my car a Benks MagClap Traveller Pro Car Charger (costs a lot less than the Mophie model in the article) which uses a vent mounting hook that looks a lot like the one on the back of the Mophie. It holds my iPhone 15 Pro Max which has a Magsafe-compatible case on it, and it hasn't fallen out of the car's vent to the right of the steering wheel despite a number of bumpy roads in my area. Its hook's connection to the vent feels stable. I was skeptical about it at first, but it's been fine. Prior to my using the Benks Traveller Pro, I used a non-magnetic, grabber-type car vent mount that had two rubber fingers on its back that slid inbetween the vent vanes, and it held my iPhone fine too, even though its grip on the vent didn't feel as strong.

Everyone who is complaining about prices please suggest a comparable alternative which you have used or are using. Thanks

For a car vent mount, the comparable Benks MagClap Traveller Pro Car Charger is currently on sale for $35.99, at least at the Benks website (https://www.benks.com/products/magnetic-wireless-car-charger). Benks rates it at the same 15 watts as the Mophie. I've had one in my car for about nine months, and it works well.

At that price you'd at least expect it to support MagSafe 2 25W charging and also hold the AirPods in place magnetically.

Yup, these are pretty pricey for 15 watt wireless chargers. The chargers featured in the article use Qi2 charging technology, not MagSafe (the mentions in the article to MagSafe refer only to the non-charging Apple additions to Qi, like the magnetic ring, etc.), so Apple would need to be willing to license MagSafe 2 charging technology to third-party manufacturers to allow them to make wireless "Made for MagSafe" chargers that can deliver more than 15 watts, but as of now Apple seems to be keeping MagSafe 2 to itself, probably as a way of driving Apple's sales of its own Magsafe 2 wireless chargers for a while. There probably won't be a Qi3 for a while, capable of delivering 25 watts, until there are more devices that can take more than 15 watts of wireless charging besides Apple's iPhone 16 models.

Plenty of older qi travel chargers for $20. Its going to be on a nightstand charging all night anyway. Cable usb c and most +20w adapters still the best way to top off a charge if youre in a hurry.

Bring back the MagSafe Duo.
MagSafe Duo is still my choice for travel charging. Compact and look nice. I have it and the 35W dual port charger for Apple which lets me easily charge my phone, watch and iPad.

Would be nice with an upgraded MagSafe Duo with faster charging but it works well enough for me now.

I recently bought two Ku Xiu X40Q Qi2 chargers. They are a foldable 3in1 which charges all three devices at max speed (except for iPhone 16 at 25w - they are max 15w for iPhones). They are great and in my opinion better designed than this Mophie charger, support StandBy, and about a 3rd of the price of the mophie. They are £61 for one or £105 for two. I am so happy with them that I will be buying two more for use on our office desks - so that’s £210 for FOUR compared to £149 for only one mophie. Below is the macrumors article where I found out about them.
