I have several mag safe duos throughout the family and quite like them - but the USBC to lightening cable was getting a little problematic and no longer a standard cable in the kit.
I highly recommend checking out the Belkin 2-in-1 Magnetic Charging Travel Pad (available at places other than apple, despite what it says). It's a little thicker than the Duo (not a lot), but is USB-C to USBC-C (and includes a brick!), does fast charging, and most importantly includes a hinge that I think is a significant design improvement over the original Duo - it supports night mode use for your phone AND charges the watch behind the unit for out-of-sight night charging. (It's the same functionality they offer in their BOOST↑CHARGE™ PRO 2-in-1 Wireless Charging Dock with MagSafe, but made for portability/travel.)
PS You can accomplish a similar function with a Duo and a piece of tape, although placing the watch requires more care and attention. I know, I tried. But I switched my travel kit to the Belkin.
