It’s simply the normal process of the capitalistic system we live in…
  • Step 1: Make something that society likes and grows accustomed to using it every day
  • Step 2: Monetize it’s popularity for CEO and shareholder value
Corporations aren’t human beings with feelings that should “do the right thing”. Apple is simply a machine to make money through any means necessary. Anything they spout about privacy being a human right or other social justice narratives are simply marketing for their image / public relations.
This. So true. As long as a company is owned by shareholders, the focus will always be on maximizing profits, not creating the best product for consumers.

Dislike capitalism but that is another topic, but since we now live in full or partial capitalism (depending on the country) we need laws and regulations. To expect a company to take full responsibility is to be naive. We need laws and regulations that protect us citizens.
