I always get pissed off when someone uses Flash on their site. It's usually implemented in a needlessly irritating way. I wish people understood that visitors to their websites come for the information, not for the (lower-case) flash. The bells & whistles were cool a decade ago, now they just get in the way.

Their website doesn't even have any bells and whistles. As a web developer, I could have done a similar website in straight html / css... But this never bothered me about their website until I tried to visit it from my iPad.

And unfortunately this restaurant has amazing food so it isn't like I can boycott them for being incompatible with my iPad...especially when they offer free wifi.

Not suggesting any action be taken, it's just stupefying that they "need" Flash - especially where it's as extraneous as you're indicating. I went to an author's site this morning and there's an irritating Flash transition between tabs. So on a superfast desktop machine I have to wait 15 seconds between tabs to see a senseless graphic transition.

- lighter weight
- longer battery life
- faster CPU
- more RAM
- Retina display
- front facing camera with Facetime

- warp core with turbocharger from BORG ;)

I wouldn't be to surprised (VERY excited though) if iPad 2 has all that.

The display might not be Retina, seeing how large the screen is.

The only reason I could see Apple not implementing all these things is that first gen buyers would be furious.

As a first gen buyer, why would I be furious?

Assuming that the next version is released next April, I've enjoyed using mine for almost 10 months. Glad that I didn't wait.

I want Full 1080P HD with TrueHD Surround sound. Infinite Battery life. :D Yea Right!

I could take or leave a Camera, As most of the Camera's on apple's products are far from what you can get in most camera's in most stores for allot less money. IF they made them with at least a 10 or 12 Mega-pixel it would then be a nice extra.

A micro SD slot or 3.0 USB transfer would be nice, And apples proprietary sync cable is painfully slow, Needs a update on transfer speeds on it. I would like to see it match eSata or 3.0 USB speeds, As we get Larger and Larger size devices a backup or Restores take forever! needs to be faster on transfer and such.

Do people realize that putting all of these features will jack up the price of the iPad? Always want to pay the same, but want more features? Not going to happen so soon. You will have wait more than a year for retina display on iPad.

I couldn't give a crap about rear camera. I do not imagine myself holding and taking a picture with iPad. I also would not record video with iPad. Iphone is the answer for that. Instead, I would ask apple to find a way to upload all my pictures and video from iOS devices to another iOS devices. File sharing, bluetooth or wi-fi? I don't care. Find a way apple.

Front camera is going happen on the next version. I would be surprised if apple does retina display on iPad with next update.

Retina display would kill the price and 4G LTE would be unusable as far as we know at this point. Face time camera on the front only. That's all I want. Maybe a redesigned case though, would make sense as it's very much like the first gen iPhone.

Look at the new iPods compared to last years. Point proven.

Same price (except the lowest) substantially more features.

iPad is over priced for what you get, Apple knows this, an also knows people will buy it. They aren't so wealthy because they only make a 10% profit on their products.

Apple could, and very well may implement 1 or 2 commonly requested feature(s) in the next gen to keep people buying.

I'd love to see a slightly high PPI, and a front facing camera, I'll agree a rear facing would be over kill, though, is it was there I wouldn't be upset =P

Was just thinking about this, and i honestly can't think of anything that i'd change with the current hardware. Ok, i'll never say no to a faster processor, more storage or more RAM, and a double-resolution display would be nice, but don't find any of those things an issue at the minute.

All of the changes i want are software, things like a better Photos app (specifically so i can sort/tag imported photos), better cacheing in Safari, and some of the stuff we know is coming in iOS 4.

So happy with the hardware for now, thanks :)

Yes a better way to sort Photo's would be a Plus, There may be good software programs out there to do the work and then transfer them back to the Maxi-pad.

There is already a thread on this. Stop making another one.

May want to post in one of the other hundred threads on this exact topic.

You folks and all your friends who post "stop it" missives should just give up. People are are going to post w/o searching, post even if they know it's been asked, post because they want to be the OP...whatever.

If it annoys you turn away from the screen until the urge to post passes. You will never stop that behavior so long as people reply to the many different threads(I almost posted in one -- I hate mis-information). You won't stop that behavior either.

Cheers,

Apples not going to put a slightly higher ppi count. if theyre gonna do retina display and cant manage to do it next year, Ol' Stevie isn't gonna get up and say, 'well we tried but its not quite retina display quality, just a bit better than it already is'. it should be fine now anyway, unless you hold your ipad as close to your face as your iphone, which i guess some people do. facetime HD would be really cool on an ipad, where you could see their whole face life size.:apple:

I'd probably just want better speakers and a slight upgrade to RAM and maybe a upgrade to the processor.

Like those...but along with the higher resolution display, I'd like this to become a fully functioning computer (enough for me to create/save all my writing on). I Know some folks might call that heresy, but since I can't use a laptop (not kind to my wrists/crap resolution) if I had to something I could always carry with me but use like my iPhone, I think I'd prefer that over having any other computer.

With all the problems I've had with iMacs this year (this new one finally seems to have calmed down)....I think I'd be happier if I could write anywhere and know that I could save it on the machine and/or on an external drive.

So I suppose beyond this I'd like the ability to plug USB directly into the iPad. And of course, to see some of my favorite desktop apps become fully functional iPad apps.

Probably won't happen with the second gen...but I hope somewhere along the way it will.

Better speaker placement
Lighter weight (my only really gripe about the current iPad)
A 7 inch iPad (It'd fit right in with my life. Got my laptop for school, my iPhone 4 for being out and about, and a 7 inch iPad for everything else.)

Maybe a small price decrease on the higher end iPad but $500 for 16gb is perfect IMO.

Bigger and slightly higher resolution screen (like 1200x900).

I think this would make it perfect for reading PDFs full pages at a time.

I was a little surprised how small the current iPad is.

I agree, since iPad is not meant to be pocketable, I'd like a larger version, with higher res and more ram (should of put more ram in the poll).

iPad isn't meant to replace your laptop, but for the price, more features is expect for the 2nd gen.

Sure - but how often do you leave the home with only the iPad and no cell phone?

I don't get some of u. Are u guys afraid that the camera will make the iPad much more expensive. Add the damn camera!!! Why not. It's not gonna make it look ugly. Just add the camera. It won't kill u. I promise

I don't get some of you either. I hope they leave it off. So the ten people that actually use face time have to hold it just right to get a good shot. How about put the camera in a dock for when you are sitting at a desk. Then we have a CHOICE....

Oh, and I didn't vote for none of the choices becausebthe two gripes I have can be done via software...
