Played with it today and maybe it's because I've already gotten used to the note 3 but it's just far too small. Feels like an iPhone 5s. The display is also very sub par. It is very fast however but I actually like the software in the note 3, tons of ways to customize.

The size being too small is definitely related to you being use to the note 3. I am not really a phone of amoled screens either =/

Anyone fancy buying me one and posting to UK? :(

Be careful with UK customs. I had mine shipped via USPS, when Parcel Force got a hold of it they ratted me out for VAT and I had an extra £80 to pay on top of the cost of the device and shipping.

The Moto X is worth it but be prepared for it to cost the same in £ as it does in $, if not more.

I've been trying to find a decent deal to score one as a second device. I love the size and feel of it, and have always been an Android fan. It also seems to have received the 4.4 update pretty quickly. (Verizon for now, others soon.)

Im just skeptical its really a 4.7 inch screen. Its physical dimensions are even smaller than the HTC One which has the same sized display. Maybe its because the on screen buttons waste a good half inch of the screen and thats makes it feel smaller. Then you are really only looking at something like a 4.1 inch usable display and thats why it felt like a 4 inch 5s to me

Good call. Motorola is soak testing an update (read: KitKat!!) for Verizon Moto X's tonight. Based on past updates, that means KitKat should be released to all Verizon Moto X's in a week or so with the other carriers following suit. Amazing that they were able to get a build of KitKat ready and out the door for Verizon in under 3 weeks.

I'm absolutely shocked that Verizon is leading the pack with any sort of OTA, looks like times are a changing for Verizon.

Wonder when we'll see that sweet KitKat for the Verizon Note 3 :D

Well we all know Verizon loves Motorola since they have carried their Droid line exclusivley for years. This is just more proof that its the stupid manufacturer skins like TouchWiz and Sense that slow these updates down. The Moto X is about as close to stock Android as you can get.

The display is the same size as the HTC One; I've measured it against my aunts. Also, its been measured and the onsceen buttons only take up 0.2 inches, so it ends up being 4.5 inches.

One of my favorite root mods is to decrease the size of the onscreen buttons since I think they are a tad to big. Other than that I've come to love the onscreen buttons over physical and capacitive buttons.

Hmmm.

Where did you order yours from? Moto Maker not letting me have anything other than a US shipping address.

Motorola some how cracked the secret to fast updates on Verizon. 4.4 is already rolling out today on the Verizon Moto X.

The secret is that its Motorola made and its pretty much stock Android. No heavy UI over it to make work with 4.4 I think you will be seeing Samsung and HTC lighten their UIs drastically next year.

Got mine today (not a Moto Maker as it was through the company). First impression, the hardware just feels awesome. It feels so much nicer than an iPhone IMO, and so much better than my Thunderbolt. I haven't activated it yet as I don't have another phone line at home to use. I'll activate it first-thing at work tomorrow, then install 4.4 after that.

I agree, this is absolutely the fastest VZW has released an OS update. I had the original Droid, it was a struggle to get the GB update out to it and THAT was a relatively bare-bones Android setup.

With Kit Kat on the Moto X, the on screen nav buttons are much less noticeable since you now have the transparent status bar and nav bar. It makes a world of difference. The screen feels so much bigger now than on 4.2.2.

the factory images are available on googles site so technically you can update it now.

Yeah, I know, but I shouldn't have to jump threw those hoops to get it updated. Why publish the images if you aren't pushing out OTA updates? As far as I know, nobody with the LTE model has yet received the OTA update.

Thats good, I might go check it out. I am much less excited about KitKat after watching some videos on Youtube. I don't really see anything I would really use, much less give up a stellar phone like the Note 3 to have. I know everyone is going crazy about its voice control, but with S Voice, I can also wake my Note 3 up and get info, set an alarm, change my schedule, play music, make a call, get directions etc...just by saying "Hi Galaxy", even when its off.

I hear ya, and if you're happy with the Note 3, by all means use it. Everyone should use what works best for them.

That being said, let's not confuse the Moto X's always listening with S-Voice. In no way, shape, or form can S-Voice even think about holding the Moto X's jock, let alone be mistaken for it. The things that are present on the X software-wise are futuristic and wonderful breakthroughs, while S-Voice is a bloated mess that doesn't work half the time and eats your battery for breakfast.

But if it works for you, by all means use it. As I said, everyone should use what works best for them.

Maybe I missed something in the YouTube videos. Can you list some things the Moto x "always listening" does that S voice cannot? I didn't see anything futuristic or a breakthru in any way. Again, maybe I missed something. S voice has worked just fine for me and doesn't eat my battery at all.

Nah, no need to list. The shortcomings of S-Voice are well known. And the only reason you don't notice the battery is because the Note 3 has that big honkin' battery. Turn it off and you'll get ungodly battery life.

Well you can't say that one feature is so amazing and futuristic then another and then not give examples of why. Especially when the other one does the exact same thing and then some.
