Still the Android gold standard for design.

htc-one-x-design.jpg

I have no idea what the hell Samsung and Motorola designers are thinking. Their phones are utterly dreadful aesthetically.

I did read the last 2 lines but like I said apps don't really require a lot of space. 8GB internal memory is a lot for apps. I have over 150+ apps (this does not include the Internal rom) and I've barely cracked 1GB . The largest is only 54 mb. I mean seriously, how many apps do you plan on storing on your phone?

It would be different if it didn't have an external memory slot.

Games can be pretty big. Oddly enough comparing to ios they are a lot smaller but I still have a couple Android games above 300 mb.

That said I over estimated the internal storage used on my Xoom. Apps are using 1.8 gb of space. And that's all the apps I'm interested in.

I agree that's the best looking Android phone to date.

Yeah games are big but they get saved to the external sd card not the Internal storage.

I think that phone might be replaced by the ATIV in terms of raw beauty.

The ATIV might be ten levels up from Samsung's ass-end design language, but it still lags far behind the HTC One X, iPhone 4S, and Nokia Lumia 900 in terms of sheer industrial design prowess.

Let's be honest. The HTC One X is quite a defective piece of crap, and that camera hole looks godawful along with how poor it felt on the front edges. It went to 99 bucks a few months after it came out due to how many people were returning it. It's quite overrated. The ATIV looks much nicer, won't have significant defects and will only sell poorly because its a Windows Phone.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it became the Galaxy Nexus 2.

This looks nice, except for the camera and the stupid beats audio brandng.

It's bad enough that these phones are hideous, but that carrier branding is just disgusting to look at.

Second that. Like wearing a giant Verizon banner, and it's on both sides of the thing...

----------

For me, the biggest shortcomings on the current Razr/Razr Maxx are the display and the camera. If the new screens are like the new Atrix HD with ColorBoost, I'll be very happy. Hope they've improved camera quality as well.

I watched the whole announcement and they didn't really say much at all about the thing. They had 3 main points, bigger screen + more pixels, LTE is fast, good battery life.

I fail to see how that took them an entire hour to spit out but yeah. How's the camera, what about ports, connectivity, hdmi, show us something... ? oh well.

I admit my Xoom is 32 gb and I have a 64 gb card. I keep all my media on the card which with movies has about 20 gb left. Aside from that everything is on internal memory. Which I have about 18 gb left. However once you are out of internal memory it's a real pita.

I don't consider that a design flaw though. What I consider a design flaw was allowing Verizon to lock the boot loader. With it locked tight I wouldn't consider any phone anymore.

Oh yeah, I forgot they locked the bootloader! Good frigging point!

Android phones are "Damned if you do and Damned if you don't" by iPhone lovers. If it doesn't look like an iPhone, it's ugly. If it does look like an iPhone, it's a copy cat. Most people put a case on their phone anyway, negating the naked look of the phone. I find this comical with the iFaithful. I run my S3 naked, because I think it looks awesome and don't have any issues with scratches, dents or a glass back breaking.

The biggest problem with that first phone is 8gb of internal storage, only 1gb of RAM and not running JB. I thought Google bought these guys. All Motorola phones should be shipping with the latest OS. The 8gb of internal storage is really bad though. This means only 6gb will actually be available to the user, and while some apps and files can be pushed to an external sd card, not all can be, nor would you want to. 16gb is really to little these days.

I agree with you.

One blessing for the razer M, is that there is SD card in it. So 8GB can be expanded. It's a great option for someone who wants the 4.3" screen powerhouse (same specs as the other two big boys).

Apparently there is already a bypass available for it.

I agree with you. It looks like someone melted something in the oven and while it was warm stuck a camera hole in there.

----------

I agree that's the best looking Android phone to date.

Most of the best looking Android phones are in Asia and we never see them here.

----------

I also think that they either have balls the size of coconuts releasing new devices with ICS Or they have tumours in their heads the size of coconuts! I mean really???

It seems that mobile companies can't be bothered to bring their A game to releases......

FWIW I would consider the Razor M, I think it looks neat! Not sure if you can remove the battery or not though.

thats a pretty huge battery in the Maxx. However with everyone copying apple with the press conferences now you would think they would copy them with the almost immediate ship date. not like these phones were a secret. Engadget and The Verge knew all about them so why arent they in production to ship in a week well the iron is hot? Instead they don't even give a date. I don't really care I would never buy a droid. just seems pretty simple. if your going to copy apple you need to go the whole way.

No one copied apple by having press conferences. Ever major manufarurer in almost every industry has been doing that for years.

Wrong! Apple was the first company to ever give a press conference about their products. Apple is #1. Everyone just copies Apple. Apple made everything in just 7 days. Worship :apple:

in general your right apple obviously didn't invent the press conference. but year after year more companies are trying to go down the apple road of secrecy till the press event. if you look years ago alot of companies announced these things with simple press releases.

Google needs to fire the moto designers and hire new ones. These phones look as ugly as their previous phones. I expect to see the next nexus phone to be from moto - I hope not but that's my expectation. HTC and samsung have some nicely designed phones with beautiful lines. These are just ugly.
