Lets see the resemblance of the pictures of the other cats looking into the camera, shure we can discover an amazing old tribute (from the very start of X, when they discovered the apple itself didn't look like enough) to Steve Jobs! And by the way to all two eyed beings staring into a cam. Remember the Phanter, that it looked just like an Alien (I don't remember it, but I can start now) :D

The Mountain Lion looks almost like it's crying, idkl if they can cry or not, but it's pretty depressing in a good way.

This thread is one of the reasons I love this community... reminds me of a less extreme version of the logo thread.

Original poster, you've beat me to it, by a couple of months. I've seen exactly the same resemblance as you have, independently. To me, it looks as if Apple has heavily photoshopped SJ into that mountain lion.

Most people around here can't see it and/or don't like the thought. And no, I haven't been smoking.

This thread is funny and scary in equal measure.

Edit:
The human perceptive system is tuned to recognise patterns in the things we see.
We are constantly (and largely subconsciously) comparing everything we are seeing to everything we can remember ever seeing.
We do this to aid our understanding of our surroundings. Its a marvel of evolution.

It can also return false positives and cause people to see Steve Jobs in a picture of an animal.
I can't believe I just typed that last line...

I'll have to admit I did notice the resemblance when I first saw the logo. But I'll also have to admit this thread is hilarious LOL

Seriously guys this is the dumbest thing I've read in a long time and I'm ashamed if this isn't just a troll to make Mac users look like morons.
