I'm not sure why your installation is failing but try using the 6.1.5-7 drivers. They're older but they work just find for the Intuos 4.

Im deciding between the 22HD and the 24HD the price difference is about 300euros so its not that much.
The question I need answered is: Can a MacBook Air 13" run a 22 or 24 cintiq?
I dont have it yet but Im thinking about that purchase as well. I have been searching the web non stop for anyone with a MBA13" + Cintiq combo but no luck :(
Also thinking about maybe just upgrading my 2.9C2D 17" with an SSD(allready have 8gb ram) Will it get a good boost?

Sorry if Im highjacking the thread but I think Im more or less on topic.

hi there -

i am working on an imac (24 inch, intel core 2 duo) machine and am trying to install the wacom driver for intuos4. the driver does not install properly - and i get the "installation failed" message at the end of the install process.:confused::confused:

can anyone please help ? the 6.3.4-3 as well as the 6.3.3-3 drivers fail the installation process.

thanks from bombay !!!

I am on a MBP 2012, Ivy Bridge, and also can't install the s/w for Wacom Tablet 6.3.4-3 or 6.3.3. Any ideas???

That's because the latest drivers don't support your Intuos 2. Wacom drivers are unfortunately not unified like graphics card drivers are. If you actually look at the drivers page, you'll see the last driver that supported your model was Driver 6.2.0-w4. Here's a direct link: http://cdn.wacom.com/U/drivers/mac/pro/WacomTablet_6.2.0w4.dmg

Even though the driver doesn't say it supports Mountain Lion, it should work. Heck, I'm using an original Intuos (back when they were still made in Japan instead of China) and it seems to work alright under 10.8 using the ancient 6.1.5-2 driver.

I just arrived here, cause my old Intuos (GD-0608-U) isn't recognized with the actual driver on Mountain Lion. Thanks to your hint, I gave the 6.2.0w4 a try - and it works!
Thanks a lot.

Updated recommendations:

Pixelmator (Mac App Store - I've used this for 6 years, still love it. You can do a lot, surprisingly, drawing & so on, not just photos. Pixel, has a sort of proprietary version of vectors.)

Pixelmator Pro
(Mac App Store, currently on sale. I haven't tried this one out myself because it requires High Sierra OS)

Affinity Design
(MAS - Vector and pixel for illustrations, graphic design. Great brushes by people like DAUB, Frankentoon, etc. & helpful user community. For photo work & raster drawing (use the same pixel brushes as Affinity Design) there is also Affinity Photo.)

Clip Studio Paint
(Formerly called Manga Studio in the USA. Have to get it here. I love this app because I love to draw & paint, and CSP is really fluid for that. DAUB, Bad Brush, Frenden, & several others make very natural feeling digital brushes for CSP. There is also a very helpful user forum & community.)

Hope this helps.
